I looked up Adaptex and Bora 5x4.75 to 5x4.5 adapters, and they evidently don't exist. I guess I'll have to take the risk and go with an Ebay or Amazon brand after all.

Are wheel "Adapters" safe for 4x4 Trucks/Suv's..........For Instance the Lexus LX570's have 5 Lugs and because of that there are tons of dope wheels for them.....But on the GX460 like I have they have 6 Lugs which makes no sense and is ass backwards. The LX570 is bigger and heavier and the GX is smaller and lighter. For those who spend way more time driving it on road than off-road than you may not want a big 20"+ wheel or an Off-Road Style Wheel".....There are not many good looking 6-Lug wheels that are not one of the 2 things I just mentioned. If I could safely use a 6 to 5 Lug Wheel Adapter Safely I could find the wheels I want easy.

They are great on Jeeps , makes the stance look better - as long as you use the hub centric kind.

Is it bad for the auto transmission and 4x4 system to go from 235/50/19 (oem size) to 235/55/19? I want a more comfortable tyre but i'm afraid that the bigger overall size would affect the automatic transmission and 4x4 system over time

10-4 on not buying trash I bought some nice ones from eBay I only needed them for the front they had the hub centric I only went the length of the wheel stud ! I’m pretty sure there billet ! I tightened them up real tight there is just enough for a full lug nut on the factory stud . They worked well my reason was to make it look correct because of a lift kit . Raising my 4Runner up the a frames went down and they got the front end side to side narrow. So to get it even up with the back I think they’re 1.125 inch’s just right down the sides just the right amount we’re the studs don’t have to be cut . I got lucky the way it all worked out ! I’m thinking about making my a arms extended travel and get longer cv joints this will eliminate the need for them . They say it will be better for my front suspension I think it will actually make it wider than the rear axle but that’s how it’s suppose to be anyway ! Great video by the way you really explained it well and the what not to do that is what mostly happens ! And understanding as time goes by they do have a tendency of coming lose. Same as aluminum wheels when I rotate I check the wheel spacers and make sure there still tight

Spacers are fine for light passenger cars or coupes. But anything suv or truck related thats lifted. I wouldn't recommend it. Premature wheel bearing failure and wheel studs snapping. Yes even if they are hub centric. Iv had to install ARP wheel studs and press them into my spacers just to run my rims on my truck. So $200 later for studs and $300 for spacers. And $2,000 later for wheel bearings my truck is back on the road. My 2 door coupe hasnt has any problems "1.5 on my car and "2 on my truck. The truck sheered off studs twice before i went to ARP studs.

Good video and spot on. I’ve been using spacers on a variety of vehicles for over 20lbs to get that perfect look. Another tip, I always use thread lock on nut that secure the spacer to the vehicle’s hub and use a torque wrench. Buy quality and hub centric gents.

How much oversize tire over stock are you planning on running is the key !…within 1 to 2 over stock tire usually don’t require any mods as long as you stay within factor rim offset and rim diameter…getting crazy with offset( deep dish ) and extra wide rims with extra wide and tall tires is where all the problems , lift kits, fender mods, shorter turning radius and increased bearing wear come into play..not to forget tires sticking way out of fenders and kicking up rocks on fenders and side of truck including vehicles behind you…chose tire sizes wisely…it’ll boil down to how much you’d be paying in the end !

@scottgalbreath5707

They're not something I would personally buy. Here's why...

1. Increased Steering Effort:

Due to the increased spacing between the wheels, more steering wheel input is required to turn the tires. This is due to the increased tire friction radius, but most cars today have modern power steering systems and this disadvantage can be largely ignored.

2. Decreased Ride Quality:

Every car comes from the factory with the driving experience already in tip top shape. However with the installation of wheel spacers, this balance becomes disturbed. The distance between the wheels and suspension components increases, resulting in a poorer ride quality. This effect is positively correlated with the size of the spacer.

3. More Wear on Suspension Components:

As the distance between the wheels and suspension components increases, so does the pressure on the suspension, and components like wheel bearings will wear out faster.

*In Closing,

It's cheaper and more cost effective to buy the correct size wheels, offset and backspacing.

They are fine if used correctly. If it's daily driving. The wheel bearings, ball joins, and ect will ware down faster then over stock. By changing the geometry from stock. Those parts aren't in there optimum position from factory, meaning your shit will wear faster from stock so fill up your tool box if it's dailyed.

My wheel almost fell off a day ago on my truck. I’m just going to leave the back ones on and none on the front. Personal maybe I did install them wrong but I been riding in spacers for over a year now and it finally broke. I don’t think spacers are bad but every singles shop I spoke too said spacers are a no go. So I’m doing my research and they all lied. But personally I’m going no spacers on the front for now that can change in the future.

I have 20mm hub centric spacers on the back of my leon cupra and 15mm on the front from precision, had them on almost a year never had any issue with them, they came with longer wheel bolts to compensate, never had any irratic vibrations or noises from them, so I would have a look at precision, the whole kit was just over £100
