ОтветитьThis is interesting but complex. I just scale the low res image to the full size and create a clipping mask over the low res image. Easier and hasslefree.

ОтветитьThere is a another option, just create new account, so you will get 1 credit, but this option also works.
Ответить(Using Gimp in 2021) Now to transfer the floating layer clicking on the green anchor on the bottom right corner is required. Clicking outside the layer won't work.
Maybe this info. will help anyone who tries it now and gets stuck on the transfer step.
