I feel like I wasted my freshman and sophomore year. I'm currently in junior year and back then I didn't even knew how to get into this tipes of colleges, as a international student I had no idea about SAT and APs and all that. I feel like it's to late. But I will do everything I can.

So during my junior year of high school, I had severe depression, which dropped by gpa down to 3.9 since it was insanely hard to study. I got a B+ in the subject I wanted to major in because I didn’t review(that’s how depression is), and I’m doing my applications rn and I’m rushed as shit. The issue is many subject of interest, physics, I mainly studied on my own time at home. I’d pull out the laptop watch lectures take notes and solve problems. I also play heavy metal guitar and draw comic art. Is this salvageable to get into a top school like Harvard or caltech?

do you think i could still be in all the activities im in and just choose 2 or 3 to put on my college app?

This might be a bit long, but I really need some advice so please bear with me.
Can I choose my passions as the study of business in the real world (as in getting actual experiences, understanding how it works, etc) and culinary? Apart from that, I'm looking to go in either biology or business. I'm not sure what, so I've been doing a lot of STEM and business competitions (such as being a part of the monthly magazines, helping to host an international level comp at our school for business, taking part in business pitch and essay comps, being an SSLT representing the business section (SSLT is student senior leadership team)). For science I've done competitions and have been shortlisted for a few competitions due to my high performance in bio + chem and got top 10 in an international science bowl team event.

What else could I do for science and culinary? And how do I better portray my interest in business?

Congrats in being admitted to Princeton, but honestly, you could of stopped your video right after the part where you said, "I come from an upper-middle-class family." There is no better way to increase one's chances of admission to an elite university, than coming from a family that is in the top 10%. And if you come from the top 1%? Jackpot! The rest pretty much doesn't matter.

I have done extracurricular activities but I don't have any proof to show I have done it 🙃. What can we do about that?

I also am part of a class where my group is inventing a new product that could add onto water filters and make them more accessible to people. I am also an eagle scout for Boy Scouts of America. I was wondering what two genres or big ideas do you think my extra curriculars would fit under. Also, any specific activity I have listed I should focus on if my major is going to be mechanical or electrical engineering.

I applied to two universities for graduate school: Stanford and Brown. I got both of them and earned a degree at Stanford. Pretty crazy, I think, in retrospect - gambling that I would end up with even one option of the two.

hey i am an 11th standard student living in india .... here in my school they dont have by much clubs .. they only have sports teams, music choir and news club.... i am certain that i dont like news publication club and i have been a musician for 6 years , i play instruments as congo, harmonium and trying to learn harmonica .. apart from that i do beatboxing and singing is a side thing....i have represented my school in state level competition and won 2nd position in intrumental category .... when it comes to volenteer work i havnt done much apart from saving 12 street dogs , rescuing 2 kittens and saving a pegion... i mostly stand for saving animals and helping them live a life of freedom and not being someone's pet ..... plus i have struggled with the orthodox believe of U CANT DO IT BECAUSE U R A GIRL .... which led me to pushing my self more in music and cocurricular activities ... soo i just wanted to ask what are the things i can do on my level to improve my chances of getting into harward and btw the things i have done till now are not for any collage i did them because i loved them ...

I am a middle class catholic white male who is a Junior in high school. I currently have a 3.7 GPA unweighted averaging a 3.4 GPA unweighted this is because every single semester of high school my GPA has risen (showing I can work hard). I go to an extremely competitive prep school I have not gotten any of my standardized test scores back, but I think I did well on them, this summer I will dive deeper into raising whatever scores I have with tutors and workbooks. I spent this last summer in Argentina, and I created the Spanish club at my school, I am fluent in Spanish and have won multiple competition for the Spanish literature an poems I have composed (I started learning Spanish in freshman year), and my Spanish teacher will write one of my recommendation letters. I have struggled with dyslexia (which makes the languadge thing so much more impressive) and the private school I go to is taught by religious monks who are set in their ways, but I have advocated for myself by meeting with the board of our school to be the first person in my school’s history get accommodations. I am also an eagle scout, and the head of the community service club and have won the presidential gold award for service which is over 350+ hours of service. I and also a camp instructor at a special needs camp and have been helping for 3 years now. As a Junior, I am the captain of the Varsity football team, and I am on the varsity track team and have competed in over 5 triathlons. To sum it up the two things I focused on is language, and community service/leadership. I posted this because I want to get your opinion, and I am constantly stressing about what college I will get into, do you think with my resume I will get me into a prestigious college. Also, I am looking for an internship but have very little idea what I want to study in college any recommendations for what internship I should look for. I'm a freshman and I've always dreamed of getting into a good school like Harvard. Honestly, getting good grades comes very easily and naturally to me, even though I procrastinate and I know that grades may be a key in it, but other things matter, too. I plan to take all advanced classes whenever I can, maybe except for advanced math because math is not my strong suit, however I'm already taking advanced history because I love the challenges. I signed up for the PSAT early and am planning to study, and also signed up for this competition to win 30,000 in scholarships. I hope I win and get a good grade! My whole life I've always gotten straight A's and been at the top of my classes. I'm trying to study how to get everything to go in my favor! I hope my dreams do come true, I'm just trying to become a science teacher lol.

hi so im a junior currently and I'll admit I've fooled around a lot freshman and sophomore year. I took honor classes both 9th & 10th I also did 1 ap class in sophomore year; I got mostly A's and B's but I haven't done much outside of school except for recreational volleyball. Now that I'm a junior I realized that I need to do a lot but I don't know where to start. Currently I'm taking all honors with 3 ap classes I decided I'm also going to take the sat and aim for 1300 but I don't know where to start with extracirculars. I enjoy art and fashion but I don't know what to do as of now Im thinking of just doing service hours and joining this model civilian club but I don't know what to do. plz help

I doubt there would be a response to my question 5 years later, but would these two particular interests need to have some sort of correlation to what I would want to major in? If I chose science, as an example, would choosing a sport+other volunteering activity category work? Or would my interest have to relate to STEM?
