When you said he clearly is bad with money and she should take charge, he dropped the corners of his mouth, you know, the fact you give when you disagree and in contempt. I knew that moment he’d be lying about how he thought of this experience and he’d go back to who he is which is blaming her for everything while acting like a irresponsible fool
ОтветитьI love you catching them celebrating when the other is chastised - you're both doing the wrong thing! it's not one persons is right and one is wrong and I told you so! Good one, very frustrating. Omg they eat out soooo much!
ОтветитьIs he using a fisheye lens it is so distracting lol
Ответить“Help my wife understand” LOL at this point he needs to listen to her………
Better yet they both take a personal finance class together… Dave Ramsey or something 😂
Worry for Clara
Ответить😱I worry for Devin. It's not clear to me whether he's addicted to gambling or not. Ramit should've addressed the 🐘elephant🐘 in the room: how much he has lost over the past year from sports gambling? Does Ciara even know how much he has lost? I've seen the devastation that comes from problem gambling and if he does have a problem, that needs to be addressed first and he needs to get help! CSPs aren't going to matter in the face of addiction.
ОтветитьWTF. did he mention gambling in the same sentence as trying to make more money?
ОтветитьCould you put follow-ups in the engagement contract?
ОтветитьYou told that man to put $7k in savings when they have high interest debt accumulating every 5 minutes??? Make it make sense. That’s TERRIBLE advice.
ОтветитьWhen it was mentioned that she had felt like leaving him and doing it on her own, i sensed no emotion from him to that. This guy acted like he made the majority of the money where in truth she makes as much as he does, he gambles and thinks he can come down on her for Starbucks?
ОтветитьTalking to Dreamers is particularly challenging for Ramit. I'm grateful he was honest and reflective on his own frustration.
ОтветитьD-Bag Devin
ОтветитьThey are both childish and arrogant. They think they will make $200 per day on Airbnb with their 250k house. That is delulu af. Also, with 3 kids, their monthly clothes will cost $50.
ОтветитьNo savings or investments in a 5 person household because partner is busy spending all the money on pokemon cards is wild.
ОтветитьWhen he mentioned Devin mentioned sports gambling as investing, I said WTF just as Ramit said WTF!
ОтветитьI've listened to every podcast and really hope you do an episode of resolved "no follow up" couples just so I can get closure.
ОтветитьGambling for more income 😂
ОтветитьI had a feeling they weren’t going to follow up.
ОтветитьProps to them for coming on the show. I sort of understand why they didn't follow up. Them changing their situation requires them to make big changes and that's scary when you have been used to doing things a certain way for so long. I truly hope they take action on some of the recommendations, you guys just take one step at a time. Don't try to change everything all at once. Great video Ramit, thanks for all that you do, you and your team ❤
ОтветитьEven when he attempted to take responsibility he still says”me and my wife”
ОтветитьIf that were my husband, I’d give him 6 months to man up, and during that time, I would be planning my escape
ОтветитьI'd be so embarrassed to come on this show and tell people I work in finance but then reveal that I have almost nothing invested and zero savings. I think this guy has gaslit his wife into thinking she's 100% responsible for their money problems, when he is just as responsible and possibly more so.
ОтветитьHow about the extra go towards debt for 2 months and then you won't have the debt payments at all and you would save on intrest.
ОтветитьNothing is going to change for them. Wish them the best but I have zero hopes.
ОтветитьEw. I hard a hard time watching this with the husband taking no accountability at all. All blame places on the wife. She deserves better.
ОтветитьAdult child of a dreamer here. It doesn't end well. Divorce, not paying child support , back taxes , financial ruin, homelessness, no retirement funds beyond social security, estrangement from children.
ОтветитьNo follow up on them is because they did not do what they said they would.
ОтветитьHey Ramit, i love the questions at the end, "what do you disagree with?*. Very insightful.
ОтветитьOmg why does he keep saying he’s good with money??!!!
ОтветитьHonestly, kudos to them for seeking help. It’s not an easy topic, and there are a lot of emotions involved.
ОтветитьThere is a reason they are called 'Collectables', because they sit on a shelf or in a box collecting dust!
ОтветитьThis guy drives me nuts. He acts like his wife doesn’t understand finances. She understands more than he does, even though she spends irresponsibly. How can an accountant not believe in retirement savings?
ОтветитьThere is no way their groceries can go down if they eat out less. That’s where they should cut their budget.
ОтветитьHow is this woman a victim again?
ОтветитьI don’t think I could have been anywhere near as kind as Ramit was talking to these two. They both need a huge reality check.
ОтветитьClara: What about your collections?
Devin: That's not important.
Did we ever find out how much he spent on gambling? Or how much was won and lost? I bet they don't even know the amounts.
They aren’t going to do anything that they talked about in the episode. They are going to keep doing what they’ve been doing.
ОтветитьI hope this guy sees the comments on his video. This guy is a child and pathetic. He needs to get his s**t together and lead like a man. He is the problem as he is a hypocrite. You cannot preach to your wife/husband when you don't follow the same rules. She has a lot of credit card debt but he thinks gambling money away is funny.... both of them need marriage counseling asap
ОтветитьI’d divorce immediately
ОтветитьRamit! Thank you for doing this! I don't think you could script a show that is so deeply provoking. I appreciate you being willing to show us when you have feelings. We are feeling them as well! Unfortunately, I was not surprised they did not follow up. I hope they do. Thanks again, I have moments in every episode where I want to cry. This show isn't about money, it's about relationships.
ОтветитьEven without them following up, know you have planted a seed. Sometimes we don’t get to see the form the growth comes in. I promise you made a difference.
ОтветитьThis guy does not take any of the feedback seriously. She should divorce this guy ASAP.
He has this big man mentality and when he is given some reasonable advice, he says the right thing but in a way that you can tell he is not going to do it.
“I don’t need retirement savings because I’m betting on myself and it will pay off when I’m 70”
“Your bet isn’t working”
“Yeah… It means I need to adjust and start saving and taking it seriously…”
Ok sure dude… you will be gambling tomorrow and telling your wife she needs to stop spending…
He’s a “finance guy” but doesn’t know gambling is a losing effort 99.9999999999% of the time.
She’s talking about her husband going nuts over $2 when the problem is $20,000.
Then he’s doing his collections and sports gambling and blaming her for their financial problems? Crikey…
Needless to say, I’m glad I’m single. The selection out there where I live is horrid. I crave connection, but I won’t settle either.
ETA: $80k in renovations on their house since 2021? Yes, I put $35k into my condo in necessary upgrades and repairs since I bought it, also in 2021, but I also made sure that my housing payment was low so I could save, and I only got the work done when I had the money. Even when my refrigerator died suddenly a couple of weeks ago, I had savings to cover it.
I hope they prove me wrong, but I don’t think they’re going to make it.
Both still wanting to live life before they had kids.
Ответить450k household are savvy enough to know not pay $1300 car payment, keep 3 cars with 2 drivers in the household!
ОтветитьPurchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьVery hard watch. The dynamic is so devestatingly familiar and unfortunately still fairly prevalent in todays society. It's such a shame that boys still grow up thinking they have to take over the control in a relationship and can't accept or show their own failures. They are worlds away from a true partnership and it is saddening. Especially thinking about the kids growing up in this who will probably learn to perpetuate the same pattern and so it goes on...
ОтветитьIs he on drugs or alcohol? His eyes seem like he’s on something.
Ответить
