Kolkata being the only lifeline of eastern India, attracts too much poor, uneducated and unskilled people from rural Bengal, Bihar and UP who overcrowd the city, encroach the streets and footpaths, and set up shacks to live in. This ruins the beauty and culture of the city (especially the older parts to the north of the city, Central and South Kolkata and the Salt Lake-New Town areas are much better). Industrialization and increasing agricultural productivity at rural areas are the only solutions.

The old city is very dirty, kalikat temple many fraud people around, rowdies, couldn't see kali matha. Dakneshwar temple also same.. 2 fat huge men didn't allow us to see amma, they ask for money. Kolkata air staffs are not friendly, air asia staff was too rude. I don't suggest this city tour.
