This is informative but disappointing cause I was thinking the ring system was light years across not a couple million miles 😢

I hate to break it to you but when they pointed the JWST at the system, they could no longer find it. In 2012, they discovered the planet by how dim the star got when it passed in front of it. However in its next predicted orbital period, they could no longer spot the planet leading astronomers to conclude that it wasn’t a planet with large rings, yet a much smaller stray exoplanet that happened to just eclipse over a star. So the big ring thing is likely disproven.

How does the rings go that far out? Shouldn’t the gravitational force get weaker then the rocks in the rings fly out?

Also J1047B is bigger than Jupiter. The rings make it seem small. It may aswell be bigger than Proxima Centauri.

It would be so cool if we confirmed this planet to be real but most likely its a significantly than expected smaller rogue planet or it was a fluke.

@thesealsharkproductions9780 - 02.07.2024 21:04

For people watching, J1407b is not a planet! It is likely a rouge planet or brown dwarf with a planetary ring system around it! has not been seen since its discovery, and likely never will, V1400 Centaurus has no confirmed planets.

So WHY do ASTRONOMERS continue to make unproven claims when it comes to so-called Exoplanets. This NON-EXISTENT so called SUPER SATURN was shown to be a misread of the data long ago, but people STILL believe in it because at some point the public was told that ASTRONOMERS announced the find. Because the public WANTS to have faith in the research they believe that SPECULATION is fact... The same thing occurred when the KEPLER TEAM told the MEDIA that they had found 2 EARTH LIKE Exoplanets. Those turned out to more likely be GLITCHES, yet people STILL believe in them... What is the motive for rushing out faulty information? Is it EGO? Is it just to be able to SAVE FACE when a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR MISSION FINDS NOTHING? The more that these claims turn out to be false the less the public will believe what they're told in the future, and can lead to LESS MONEY for RESEARCH... So they should keep their mouth shut until there is more certainty...

J1407b actually isnt a ringed super saturn, it was discovered to actually be a rogue brown dwarf in transit with the star, making them think is a super saturn, every other transit for if it was actually in orbit was missed indicating that it was a rogue brown dwarf.

Ответить

Actually, that’s incorrect.

It’s a protoplanetary disc and it’s probably a rogue brown dwarf.

There is a high chances that J1407b maybe fake! ( Well there is a 99.99% chance that this planet is not real).. from the discovery of that planet ..scientists never found this planet again.. scientists believe that maybe this is a brown dwarf and the thing that causes dimmed the light for several weeks passing a star maybe a gas/protoplanetary disc surrounded by the brown dwarf (not rings like saturn).

If it's 30 times the mass of Jupiter, it's a brown dwarf.
