The worst API and flow at all. A simple REST API for all home devices (mini, chromcast, ...) will be better.

I love my home automation but I would like to control it myself so for the love of god please mute the "Hey Google" because I have a lot of devices connected and my house goes nuts everytime I watch a video about the Google Assistant, product testers are good enough to mute themselves!

Woah! I had no idea I could use this home automation template. In my project, I used Dialogflow and webhooked it to my Node.js server. The problem I had was how to personalize my Google Assistant bot for different users. And there's so much more one can do with this ready made home automation template.

We can do this via IFTTT by directly saying "ok google. switch on the kitchen light". But without IFTTT when I am trying to create an home control action in google assistant, I should say "Talk to $MyApp" first and then continue with the conversation for eg. "ok google. turn off the kitchen light". How this can be possible with single sentence by directly say to google assisant "ok google. switch on the kitchen light" without saying "Talk to $MyApp"

I appologise in advance because this is a bit of an edited brainstorm more than a comment, but maybe you will understand what I'm asking better than a generic scripted customer assistance person.

I am electrician and I intend to buy a Google home for testing on an old house I have, I'd like to automate everything in the home. (And later charge for other people's installations)
I'm experienced in control circuits and PLCs as well as domestic, commercial and industrial installations.

However there is a bit of a knowledge gap between developers and installers.

does google recognise variable switching commands like say, multiple fan speeds, or light dimming?
I can buy a "smart" dimming switch or fan controller for the GH.
will google recognise, "set fan speed to 3" or "dim the lights to half brightness"?
I assume the smart device will transmitt a list of its available functions to the google home program.
But how do i access a full list of commands and functions of GH as an installer? There seems to be no material to bridge the gap between:
"programmers and manufacturers" >> "electricians (the people who can wire the houses legally)"

I found a lot of generic devices that are cheap, but I haven't seen the limitations of google home yet.
I think that is why I haven't seen anyone who can wire a house and integrate this technology fully without expensive 3rd party devices that only the end user would purchase example: $200 smart lamp (when an electrician would use a "generic $5 smart switch or smart switch and relay")

This monetary difference is what will stop the average home builder automating their new home with the GH device.

I know i would be able to implement this much more cost effectively than current home automation systems that people use (and we sell)
There really is no limit to what I can make something do with physical control circuits, I just want to know how flexible can I get with voice commands.

what I need is an "final installers kit" whereby it's more of a user interface and materials nessecary for testing installation designs as opposed to 'creating new devices' or the 'end user interface' in Google home.
Electricians need a way to implement this tech and make it more mainstream, we are after all the people licenced to do the work.
The problem is the material available is for programmers and manufacturers. We need materials on the full limitations and command abilities and how we can use those abilities as installers for design and construct applications in the real world.
We also need a communications channel between ourselves and the google home developers, if say a voice command lacks an appropriate function.
At the end of the day, we have to quote a price, and without all the materials who can say how long it will take to automate a house with Google home? I'm sure experience will answer this and I aim to gain that experience but any materials would be of great benefit.

Single points of failure...That problem cannot be easily solved...If you turn on your furnace and you cannot shut it off remotely due to sockets failures and it happends to fry your pets, I'm sure that Google won't be held accountable for the malfunctioning gizmos. Sounds good theoretically and on paper but bad in practice...Socket failures and recovery has to be part of the equation. That means events queing and I do not mean MQTT. There has to be try and repeat queues at the dispatch point with separate routing points to different IP processing hubs. It will get complex quick...
