Nintendo will charge $60 AGAIN for Mario Kart 8 when its ported for the Switch 2. Let me explain

👉 Once wave 6 is done in september 2023, later this year Nintendo will officially announce the Switch 2 for 2024. So, what happens with Mario Kart? We just bought the Booster Pass, right? Will there be a Mario Kart 9?

🔹️Short answer: "yes".
🔹️Long answer: "No".

Nintendo will launch a Mario Kart for the Switch 2, yes, but as a port of the Deluxe version including waves 1-6. Besides, to justify paying $60 for the same game, Nintendo will add another 48 tracks to the game! (So 144 tracks on total). Also, they will include the karts, outfits and remaining characters from MK Tour (all the content not added on the first 6 waves). Who could possibly resist that?

All that, considering a brand new interface (new menu, music, art), you have the perfect recipe for reselling an old game as a "new" one.

Its the obvious and logical business for Nintendo. Theres no other way. They wont do a new Mario Kart from scratch. Imposible. Madness.Especially when they have to top MK8 with 96 tracks? Sorry, but theres no way that from happening. Plus, MK8D its the best selling game from Nintendo since the Switch launch. Believe me, Nintendo WILL find a way to re sell the game to us.

Throughly enjoyed this wave, outside some gripes with Koopa Cape and Sunset Evening Wilds every track was a banger, especially Squeaky Clean Sprint and Daisy Cruiser

These look awesome, but you are terrible Mario kart player.

I might be the only one feeling bored of those dlc tracks. 2-3 decent tracks in each wave, all the rest are just not worth any attention. Dull textures, low level of detail, short tracks, no alt routes - it's just DULL. We need new MK game and new Switch, and new reworked tracks. I have no fun just driving the same circle tracks, I want variable routes with hidden options, longer tracks, I want much more visual detail. These tracks look like they were taken from N64 - plain straightforward roads. You rely only on luck and drifting, no exploring, no reason to try different class of kart. Ahhh... Ok, I will get back to ps3 and Motorstorm game, these were the times people were creative.

Was going to comment on the driving till i saw they were playing 200cc and still coming in first on unfamiliar tracks AND THE NEW CHARACTERS just to show them off. Seriously y'all, lay off. Nothing but respect for the NL team.

Have you guys considered doing these in time trial mode for less visual distraction? Lets us take in the course more.
