Thanks Doc! Terrific lesson. I love your work, both solo and with the Lexington lab band. Your comments on multiple voicings when playing with other musicians is also appreciated.
ОтветитьThank you for your clear, understandable presentation / demonstration.
I'm quite old and icky, so having pointed out keeping the same finger
positions and sliding them, as one option, makes it easier to get into
practicing this great song.
The guitar you're playing in this video, is that a Martin D-35 ?
It sounds great.
I can't make out the name on the head stock.
Thanks again
Here's an unrelated question. I have heard some folks fool with the melodies of songs by transposing tunes which were originally written in major into minor. Some examples include the National Anthem, Hey Jude, Amazing Grace, and even Silent Night. Doing this gives the song an almost eerie effect. But when songs are ORIGINALLY written in a minor key, they may sound slightly sad, but it's much less noticeable. Why is that?
ОтветитьNice job-
This is one of the greatest love songs of all time-
And that guitar is the definition of a nicely balanced sounding acoustic guitar.
I subscribed and im excited about looking at your other stuff.
Still a great lesson after 12 years. Those major 7 chords are a good workout (especially that cascading grip!). Much appreciated!
ОтветитьThis going to be so easy I can't wait when I get my acoustic guitar I can just write down on the frets and the letters to put my fingers real slowly
Ответитьgood tutorial as always, thank u
ОтветитьThanks again, Dale! I took this lesson eight or nine years ago and came back for a refresher, today. Wonderful lesson!

ОтветитьOf all of the tutorials on this song, you have THE only accurate one! I had the honor of learning this from Robert himself, many years ago. Along the way, I forgot a couple of the chord voicings, and you nailed it. Thanks for the memories!
ОтветитьThank you. what is the strumming pattern. I am missing it by a beat.....Thank you for posting, nice job at explaining it.
