I reject this narrative. The terran are another alien race (although very human-like) in the SC2 universe. Earth and humankind does not exist in this fictional universe.
ОтветитьWHY have I not seen this video until now?!?!
ОтветитьTalks about genocide of Project Purification while chilled country music starts. Very Terran.
ОтветитьTơ - răng = ))))
ОтветитьIf it wasn’t for all the atrocities he committed, you kind of feel a bit for Arcturus, especially given at first he didn’t want to rule the korpulu sector.
His mother and sister were killed, and his homeworld was devastated by nuclear hellfire.
You gotta wonder what clicked in him to go from freedom fighter to dictator. Especially given how charismatic the man is prior to the end of Rebel yell.
Is it just me or does the terran soundtrack make it hard to pay attention to the story?
ОтветитьImagine this with the UPL First Light mod units
ОтветитьMost of the terrans in conflict in the game is 1/3 core colony, while zerg and protoss tear each other apart. Even when earth enter the war, umojo and the merchant union did not resist much.
ОтветитьIt is so cool that the developers used our worlds politics as an example for Starcraft
A totalitarian society, using minorities as test subjects and target pratice, that seems adequately representative 😅
I discovered these videos the other day and I’ve watched each of them at least 3 times. I wish I could see them for the first time over and over again. So well done
ОтветитьI had figured this before but it's even more obvious now: the backstory of humanity in StarCraft and Subverse are eerily similar.
ОтветитьArcturus mengskt, not Angus
ОтветитьThis is a really really great series you made, seriously impressed 11/10
ОтветитьHow dose this not have more views it's great
ОтветитьLOVE THAT YOU USE INGAME UNITS AND BUILDINGS TO TELL THE LORE
ОтветитьIncredible work!
ОтветитьThis timeline is starting to sound all too familiar....
ОтветитьGracias por este vídeo. Me gusta ver contenido audiovisual de StarCraft enfocado en cosas como trama y lore. Me voy a suscribir a tu canal.
ОтветитьI thought this was moistcritical for a sec
ОтветитьDid they every reconnect with OLD EARTH? They
ОтветитьAnyone else feel that the origin story of the Terrans is basically Australia but in space? Just as the British Empire sent its prisoners to Australia to fend for themselves so did the UPL send its prisoners to outer space to fend for themselves. The difference being that in Starcraft's case it wasn't supposed to be a penal colony but rather human experimentation on surviving in space, but other than that the 2 stories are eerily similar.
Ответить…
ОтветитьThis is lifted word for word from the instruction manual that came with the game. That’s not a criticism, merely a observation that most kids probably don’t even know what a game instruction manual is. Never mind that you could wring out a 25 minute video from what is probably 25% of the manual.
ОтветитьI miss playing the original StarCraft, the national sport of Korea in the 90s.
ОтветитьNot gonna lie if the the protos general didn't get a conscience might have stopped the Zerg then and there
ОтветитьNo Wonder the Protoss Glassed Us...
Ответить"Live for the swarm!"
- Future Terran
HBO needs to get their hands on a Starcraft tv show
ОтветитьYou just won my loyalty sir 💕
ОтветитьThat's more like the decline of overall world civilizations and not "western".
The west is not the only good place in the world.
Loved the video! Very informative and I got to hear stuff I never knew!
Two criticisms:
1) What you describe as socialism does not whatsoever sound like actual socialism. That new world government/order was a reppressive force, as you described, which goes against the very nature of socialism. Had it been socialist it would have united everyone, not assimilated them into one ethnicity. Things like the purity project also screams of conservatism, which is the opposite of progressivism (the latter of which socialism is a part of.
2) Humans aren't terrans. As far as I know the term "terran" describes the descendants of the humans, but ultimately are are sub-species. Terrans live longer, have more body mass (?), probably something else and all terrans are born with some level of telepathic powers—even if most never develop any powers. So humans are earthlings whereas terrans are a sub-species, or the next step in homo sapiens' evolution if you will (though an artificially created evolution).
Poor Mengsk 🥺
ОтветитьUED history and lore when? xD You do an awesome job with these, im stunned every time <3
ОтветитьAhhh that intro music
ОтветитьI thought the UPL came back to Koprulu in some capacity?
ОтветитьBut..... It is now the 41st millenia and the Galaxy is in flames, for in the grim dark future there can be no peace amongst the Stars, there is only war...
Ответитьgot a sub. Holy crap with the production value. most lore blurbs are just reading from wiki ect. but my dude made a legit movie with in-game assets to give context.
ОтветитьThe imperium of man from Warhammer 40k is much worse than the Terran dominion, the imperium of man turn people into servitors or they will sacrifice people souls to the god emperor from Warhammer 40k
ОтветитьLol At least, in the real world there'll be no need in the future for an 'Operation Purification' thanks to the ongoing modern programmes of de-population already underway for decades &...with most folk so dumbed down that they believe the world is over populated while many national populations are on the verge of collapse & though the current world population could all fit in Texas with 100sq ft per person....set to continue into the future.
ОтветитьNeed a video about the UED
ОтветитьGreat content!!!
ОтветитьThe History of the Earther.
ОтветитьI love how this was done. No preamble, just right into the good stuff, with solid production value to boot.
ОтветитьAh, a StarCraft lore channel now?
Keep going. Your efforts to tell StarCraft's story will not go without people watching, like us. :D
Boy this history is starting to sound a little too close
ОтветитьNarrated like this, really puts into view how incompetent the Confederacy was at keeping order. Their only solution was to imitate the United League of Powers, and they didn't imagine it would backfire terribly... even more by the fact they weren't realizing their hold was fading. Until the Protoss and the Zerg came knocking at the door.
Really good telling of the story. It's been a long while since I read both the manual's official terran history, as well as the novel I, Mengsk.
Very well done - at 40, I cannot wait to show this to my kid (13) whom I' taught Starcraft I to. Also - nothing to do with the video, but sound design (and design of one of the most feared Terran units - the mighty Siege Tank) - is better in SC I than in SC II. Greetings from Latvia, keep up the spirit!
ОтветитьI thought Terrans are the descendants of defeated people from a civil war and exiled to space.
Ответить
