Bruh. I’ve been stuck in my growth for like 2 weeks….yeah. Sounds kinda not that bad. But, I’ve been going apeshit for like the past 2 years (produced for 8. Reaaaally went iiiiin for 2 ) and damn. I’ve gotten to a point where 90% of the tutorials are just explaining shit I know. This hit me with a few curveballs that I’ve been fucking lacking. My biiigest struggle at the moment, to be honest is more than likely that phase thing you brought up. Which, I knew but, never remembered. And I had no idea you could just centre the phase that way. I was always like “I’ll just use linear phase for everything and overheat my laptop cuz dubstep.” But that’s huuuge. I was always fucking confused why a professional reference track would be looouud af and not peak at all. But, when I slapped a default eq on it to see what it looked like, it went over the fucking red instantly. I think parametric eq off centres the phase, even if it’s not altered at all. And the fact that this would cause peaking, just gave me a fucking “aha” moment. So thanks dood.
