Haha i've always wondered any bottles were harmed during the making of these reviews
ОтветитьAgreed with the slight disappointment with Talisker 10 and positive thoughts on Glenmorangie Original, even though I'm a peat-head and salt-head.
ОтветитьI love these Recycled videos. I appreciate the reviews and opinions. It's also amazing how palates and experiences differ. Personally, I will always be biased toward Talisker 10. It was the first single-malt whisky that ever opened my eyes to what whiskey can be. I can't not love it. It always pleasantly reminds me of where my journey started. But I get it. Some whiskies just don't do it for you. I love peat and many Islays. But I just can't seem to make myself like most Laphroaig products very much. I don't know why.
ОтветитьStrong work, Roy: another great breakdown, and the spreadsheet/resource links go above and beyond. Keep spreading the good word.
ОтветитьGreat review what about the aberlour 12 non chilled filtered in 47 abv?
ОтветитьKeep bring this up Roy! Really enjoy your recycle videos! Went out try to buy most bottles you gave good marks! Can’t agree more after i tried them. Thanks!
ОтветитьEverytime I watch Roy talk about a whisky he’s really enjoyed, I’m sold. He can really express his enthusiasm and inform at the same time.
ОтветитьTalisker 10
Tried on new years eve my partner has fallen in love with this whisky, I love it as well, but we are new to drinking whisky, she got an arran gold for Xmas which is also one of the best cream whiskys we have had
Yes, Glenfarclas 21 year old needs to be 46% ABV
ОтветитьTalisker 10 year old used to be a favourite of mine but I wouldn't buy it again because it's simply no where near as good as it used to be. Not sure what happened? 🤔
ОтветитьFantastic video
ОтветитьThis is a great format, all caught up now and after more! It's excellent. Another few added to the wishlist. Keep up the exceptional work.
ОтветитьReally enjoy but to be able to have your spreadsheet on the phone while at the store? Brings up the value of this channel and you many notches! Thank you!
ОтветитьRoy how much whisky do you get through?! Fantastic review fodder but painful on the wallet I bet!
ОтветитьSat down last night to compare some kilkerran 12 and springbank 10. Both hit a similar craving for me, and I think I slightly prefer to springbank 10. It's also slightly cheaper and more available around me than kilkerran. Do you think you would pay more for kilkerran 12 over springbank 10? Or would you perhaps prefer the springbank more often than not?
ОтветитьLove these recycled - why no macallan ?
ОтветитьAberlour 12 in USA comes in at 43%....worth a punt ?. Cheers Charlie
ОтветитьThis video makes me purr like a whisky-filled kitten...
Having recently delved into whisky, how does one get past colouring and chill filtration? Breaks my heart every time...
Speaking of Talisker... oh you heretic xD set him to fire! burn him! xD
thanks, good as allways ;)
Thanks Roy. It’s all great but the music.
ОтветитьI tend to agree with your reviews and your opinions, and usually it's because of your opinion, that I try a whisky. But, I have a special place in my heart for Talisker (especially the 10) as it was the 10, which started my whisky journey. This is possibly going to sound a little odd, but it was the first whisky I tasted, where I could tell it wasn't just alcohol sharpness running down my throat, and after this, it made every other whisky I've tasted, so much more enjoyable. The laphroig 10 (first peated whisky I ever tasted) taught me that, peat is a fantastic thing at times, but the Talisker started it all. Other than that, I agree, it is the hardest to connect with. My favorite Talisker at this point, being either the Storm or the Skye expressions. I love your reviews, and I look forward to the next.
ОтветитьFunny, I’ve only had one cork rot/break on me out of 150+ bottles and it was also a Bunnahabhain 12 year old.
ОтветитьJust found the G&M Balblair 21 online, getting delivered tomorrow will be hard not to open this right away ! Have had the Balblair 99 (17yr) which is amazing and this was the same price so very happy. Also form a different online shop found Deanston 18 for $60 which is ridiculously low so got two of those ! Life is good
ОтветитьGreat work! Thank you so much.
ОтветитьAllardice for 90 pounds or less!?!? Hah, I wish! That's damn near $200 around me.
ОтветитьWhat do you moast recomend glenfarclas 21 or 25?=)
ОтветитьHello Roy can you give me your comments on The Glenlivet nadurra olorosso, peated and the first fill? Also as they are NAS can you tell us what age they could be?
ОтветитьVery interesting and informative! It's a fact that a whisky develops over time in the bottle. Often for the better. That's why i cannot understand some you tubers judging a whisky after a tiny sample. You seem to be a big fan of Deanston. Did you also try the independant bottlings? I just have a Deanston 2008/2019 from Signatory in my glas. Great stuff.
ОтветитьAberlour 12 could do with a "squirt" of A'Bunadh.
ОтветитьSince scotch has to be aged in used barrels, what is “virgin oak”?
ОтветитьI’ve watched a lot of your video and have enjoyed them greatly but I’ve never commented but I felt the need to now because I feel the same exact way about the Talisker 10. You literally took the words out of my mouth. I bought it because of the great things I hear and it is a great expression but find myself going back to it to try and find that something special but it hasn’t come yet. Keep up the great work. Videos are great, the editing, the music, and the way you talk about it with passion. Very enjoyable. Slàinte 🥃
ОтветитьTried the Aberlour 12 non-chill filtered, yet? Stunning stuff at 48% ABV. If you’re looking the up the regular 12 double cask... this is the stuff. Only 2 euro’s more on the continent.
ОтветитьLove these recycled reviews my friend, please do continue them.
ОтветитьGlendronach 18 is fantastic stuff. Also love Deanston 20 as well.
ОтветитьI love you and Ralfy. But 7,5 to talisker 10🤦♂️.
ОтветитьI love nothing more than going back through old recycled review videos. This video, number 6, is the one that hit my wallet the hardest :D
ОтветитьRoy, may I ask, what's this signature music in the background called? 😁
ОтветитьCan you send me the spreadsheet
Thanks
Canuck
I have the 12 year old Aberlour, but it's the non-chill filtered version, bottled at 48% instead of 40%. What do you think of it? I think it's really great stuff.
ОтветитьOn average how long does a bottle last once opened for you? I've been watching all the recycled reviews this week and I'm loving it!
ОтветитьWith the recent Glendronach decision, the "get it while you can" seems prophetic...
ОтветитьRoy, you gotta lend me your crystal ball! How in the world did you predict that GD 18 will change?! Amazing! (you, not the change)
ОтветитьHow many months/years does it take you to go thru the batch of what we see here ?
ОтветитьIs older than label Allardice 21 still happening? Seems like we have one year left of this happening as much, with the 15 able to be stock from the reopened distillery
ОтветитьPurring like whisky filled kittens! Great descriptor Roy.
ОтветитьTop notch information,muchasGracias Roy🤘🏽
ОтветитьIt's 2024, to buy a 21yo of any whisky now... HAHAHAHA I'll just pay my mortgage for the month thank you very much.
