Very helpful video for me. I stopped buying so I can better educate myself on what I already have.
ОтветитьMy grandfather gave me a Morgan Silver Dollar (1900-O) for Christmas.
ОтветитьBeautiful Morgans!❤
ОтветитьNo idea how I missed this thanks for pointing it out it was very satisfying thanks rob for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
ОтветитьI cherry picked an 1889 0 VAM 1A1 clashed E from Ebay. I love morgan dollars. 1891 cc au58 details. 1892 cc I think more like vg10 details
ОтветитьGood video, thanks. Always love Morgans. Question, do you have all 13 CC;s?
ОтветитьHey Rob is the 1893-O Morgan Dollar rare it’s graded it was given to me by my sadly past great grandfather he said it’s worth a lot is it and if it is do you want to buy it and I have that penny being checked out by an expert
ОтветитьHow you feeling rob? Hopefully better, nonetheless thanks for the great video and for supporting your community
ОтветитьNice finds thanks for sharing.
Ответить1st coin $40 coin
ОтветитьWhat no 1898 ?
ОтветитьThat 1900 O though!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHow is the plum tree looking brother???
ОтветитьWell done Rob! Too bad the silver jar didn’t doesn’t get to gulp all that silver down at the end!!
ОтветитьI’d watch videos like this one all day long.
ОтветитьI enjoy seeing coins and hearing explanations. I appreciate this type of content. Thanks for sharing
ОтветитьCongratulations on your pick ups. They all look beautiful to me. Nice video.
ОтветитьI could watch another hour
ОтветитьI think you got a really nice deal on the 1892 CC. Great video - very informative. Thanks, Rob!
ОтветитьI remember buying a number of Morgans myself 20 plus years ago from the one local pawn shop. Even with being a relative newbie to coin collecting then you could tell a few of them had been cleaned as they just looked too good.
Though at least back then you were able to get them for $10-20 each all day every day.
Great additions to your collection Rob, I love the Morgan's buddy 👍
ОтветитьI would buy raw Morgans online early in my collecting hobby. I never got a coin that was worth its price or held up to any professional scrutiny. The experience ruined me from ever buying raw again. This video brought up bad memories. $2500, oof, well at least you'll make back some of that with the video.
ОтветитьNice though when paying 20%over what's the point. Other than cool content. Thanks Rob.
ОтветитьEnjoyed it. Informative to hear your value rationale for each.
ОтветитьNo matter what you paid, you can't really go too wrong on Morgans. Always collectable coins.
ОтветитьGSA hoard Carson city Morgan’s are mint state only correct?
ОтветитьSo, you bought each coin individually? I would prefer that than buying a roll if I could not see the coins. You need to know what to look for to make sure you get a decent deal. That is why I avoid buying raw ungraded coins.
I thought the details made the video length worth my time. its nice to knowhow much you paid. It would be beneficial if you told us how much the original asking price was assuming you negotiated.
$2,400 doesn't seem too bad. Some of those Morgans are on fire! 😍
If I had the discretionary funds, I could see spending at least that much for a similar roll. My Morgan collection has barely began (a dozen or so). I would have more, but I have multiple collections going at one time 😂
Just my opinion, but I think you made out just fine. As you know, collectors will throw money at a gorgeous coin. You've got several.
some nice coins rob, i always learn something watching your videos 💪
ОтветитьHey rob, I went to the bank and asked for some 2 dollar bills for someone’s birthday i ordered 2 of them and one of them was a 1953 B series Red seal United States Note. Is it rare?
ОтветитьGreat video.
Ответитьno 83 s lol
ОтветитьEnjoyed the hunt! Happy Hunting, Stephen
Ответитьhope you can make money its risky
ОтветитьHello Rob, nice catch! Tought about you today, i've found a Philippines one peso commemorative silver from 67 at a garage sale, without your videos i wouldn't have known it's US mint, cheers from France ❤
Ответитьnice coins,
ОтветитьNot what I collect but really cool to hear your thoughts about each coin.
ОтветитьI like the longer videos
ОтветитьI enjoy these type of videos. You’re very informative on prices, grades, details (cleaning, artificial toning, etc.) and I think it’s important to have some knowledge on this type of stuff. I hope to see more in the future Rob as this video was pretty fun to watch. Have a good night Rob
ОтветитьI love these type of videos!! I think from most of them you pay a pretty good price!!
ОтветитьLoved seeing the new stuff you got and info u have on everything
ОтветитьSpot on on all accounts 🤌
ОтветитьSo are we throwing these Morgans into the silver jar?? HA! I think you were more than fair in your pricing, and yes, I think you overpaid on some of the higher-priced ones. And I am not an expert by any means, but some of the coins look like they had the miniscule scratches that come from older cleanings--BUT, all in all, great purchase brother. (By the way, does Charlani know that she is forfeiting at least 40 Surf & Turf meals for this purchase?? Again. HA. Just saying.)
ОтветитьGreat video Rob! I’m going to be completely honest but I think you overpaid by a decent bit on the majority of these Morgan’s. A great example would be the 1900 S which definitely has artificial toning. It looks like someone heated it up. It also looks like it’s AU details. You paid $350 for it but even straight graded AU 58 examples sell for around $300. AU 55 examples only sell for $200 and AU50 sell for bout$150 so it’s hard to see how that coin is worth much more than $150. All of the common dates were probably ms 62-63 examples which usually sell graded for about $50-$70 which is what you paid so you definitely paid retail plus. This is just my observation. You were very generous to the guy.
ОтветитьAwesome video nice silver dollar Morgan's I love looking at Morgan that is a shame that 1900 look like that anyway thanks for sharing Rob
ОтветитьI have 2 morgans. One in au condition, and one PCGS slabbed MS63, both are 1884O, the raw one is in my 7070 album.
ОтветитьWithout looking at the coins in person I take your word that these were cleaned and/or have other problems. It's always nice to see a group of Morgans in higher grade when there are some better dates included. In my Morgan collection I would much rather have an EF or AU if it's well struck or has minimal marks in the fields. But I will pass if the coin shows evidence of harsh cleaning or has more than minor bag marks. I've been lucky to have put a really nice grouping of Morgans together in 40 years. I took some of the better dates in high grade and sent them to ANACS for grading. Most came back as cleaned, although there's no polish marks on any of them. I will have to make sure that the executor of my estate makes good decisions when the time comes.
As far as what I need to complete my Morgans (basic date & mintmark, no VAMs), it's down to the scarce and expensive ones. The ones I will probably never hope to get, unless I come across a windfall, are the 1889-CC, 1893-S, and the 1895-P (no surprise).
