Probably my favorite John Wayne war film ever made.
ОтветитьAh yes this. I was told in another YT clip that this was during the early Advisor era hence why no AKs, RPDs or even RPG-2s.
ОтветитьWhy did they say that a ppsh was a Chinese gun? Was it a copy
ОтветитьI talked to actual Green Berets who served in Vietnam, and they said this movie was a comedy to them
ОтветитьSeeing stupid media getting trashed always puts a smile on my face,
ОтветитьYou can definitely see the pro war sentiment in This scene alone, isn’t that the only reason why John Wayne agreed to make this film?
ОтветитьAwful pro war movie made by a racist. Its fun to laugh at tho
Ответитьunsure if someone has already mentioned this but it seems their rank patches are wrong as sgt mcgee had a master sgt insignia and at the start they were called sgts.
ОтветитьThis needs to be taught to Democrats and woke people today.
ОтветитьAged like milk
ОтветитьFilmed in the jungles of Fort Benning GA. 🤣
ОтветитьPure propaganda.
And the fact that this film dares to be pro war, in 1968 is pure lunacy
And the fact that they dare to invoke the American revolution to justify America's resolve in Vietnam is very Reminicent of the times
This didn’t age well. As a matter of fact, we had ourselves another Vietnam in Afghanistan.
ОтветитьBullshit.
ОтветитьIs this happening on the news around USA or am I wrong soon we will have to step up this war is going to be won by the people it's the only way to keep are way of life.
ОтветитьIs that you John Wayne? Or was it me?

ОтветитьWatch M*A*S*H instead for what really went down.
ОтветитьGreat clip... and very true. My wife and her 11 siblings escaped that brutal war torn country. Thanks to our brave soldiers they were relocated all around the world in various 'free' countries. Freedom, however, isn't free. Thank you to all our soldiers and God bless the loved ones of those who gave 'all'.
Ответитьlots of paths to Office West Point (MAjor general D Patard) rhymes with PICARD combat commission and WAIT FOR IT... officer candidate school OCS the story of the 90 day Wonder From Lunatic Lane Kenya... Like wind talkers... with a twist.... well, just understand why?
ОтветитьBest part of the film.
ОтветитьGood morning and how fortunate I don't think 💬🤔.
ОтветитьEx Navy i did my best to support the Army but we sailors disliked the war. We did our jobs but played anti war songs onboard our ship. I respect these soldiers but i was Against the vietnam war.
ОтветитьGreat clip
ОтветитьDamn, aldo was hammered in this hahahaha
ОтветитьYou can tell Muldoon’s dialogue is stitched together. I heard somewhere that the actor was known for drinking.
ОтветитьDude's justifying American involvement in Vietnam due to weapons manufactured in communist countries, but the Vietnamese were relatively independent because the Soviets and China had split.
When Deng Xiaoping invaded Northern Vietnam in 1979, this must have caused half the Pentagon to have egg all over their faces.
My uncle was in Nam he was a Marine
Ответить“If this same thing happened
here in the United States...
...every mayor in every city
would be murdered.
Every teacher that you've ever known
would be tortured and killed.
Every professor you ever heard of...
...every governor, every Senator...
...every member of the House of
Representatives...
...all would be tortured and killed,
and a like number kidnapped.”
They hit the nail on the head with this quote about the actions of the Viet communists in Vietnam during the war.
My dad was one. He created such a persona,we could never live up to
ОтветитьMy grandfather was in 5th Group in Vietnam. He’s a tough man, started off as a tunnel rat in the 25th Infantry, became a LRRP and went to Special Forces selection. Spent his time in the SF all the way until they moved to Ft. Campbell. Helluva man. God bless our soldiers.
ОтветитьLove this movie.
Ответитьfunny that most real south east asia ( the nam to those that were their) used to laugh and mock this movie as the clean leave it to beaver version of the conflict in south east asia
ОтветитьFunny enough if you read enough MACVSOG Books alot of those guys later in the war saw this movie and it inspired them to become green berets hell Nick Brokhausen in his book "We Few" talk about he kept a picture of John Wayne on him that said "love dad" for any enemies to find😂
ОтветитьChicken hawk flag waving John Wayne
ОтветитьBest press briefing ever given. Leftists HATED this movie.
ОтветитьGreat movie with John Wayne. Didn't understand the ending as a child but now I cry as an adult.
ОтветитьAldo Ray was my grandfathers 2nd cousin. I heard of him before I knew that. But never knew much about him. Interesting.
ОтветитьI know it's hard to know American soldiers died. But it's about more than a war between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. It's wondering when do we say enough? Look at how far communism has advanced in the world. Look at the fact that Russia and China are helping Iran and Iraq, hezbalah, in order to destroy United States. Have put it out there that they want all Americans dead. When do you start helping countries that these countries are trying to destroy? They have no respect for women or children. Skinned and raped women and children, burned them alive. I couldn't disrespect the military. I fully understood that this movie showed a better picture of what was happening. It's a movie I cried when I watched it. I enjoyed it. It's like watching Tears in the Sun. People need help and we are strong enough to be able to help.
ОтветитьChrist this movie sucks.
ОтветитьLove that movie. Especially this scene.
ОтветитьIt is true the entire Communist block was providing arms, advisors and even soldiers to the war. Of course they also had their 5th column in the USA too.
ОтветитьI am a Bulgarian, born in 1992, three years after the fall of the local communist regime in 1989.
I was lucky to not be born ten years earlier, because communist brainwashing of children began from the age of 4-5, before they were even able to read.
However, I remember clearly the devastation of my country in the years after the fall, when the so-called "democracy" quickly turned into gangster-led oligarchy under the supervision of former high-ranking communist party members.
This movie hits too close to home. The Vietnam War was not a popular one, but as a person who grew in a country from the other side of the Curtain, I sure as hell understand why you Americans took part in it.
Bollocks and old American big mouth talk! At the end, it hasn't got you anywhere else, but to eventually lose the war, by 1975! Yes...nowadays, you finally grown mature (...thank God for that) but back then, you were still acting like children!
ОтветитьStill one of my all time favorite opening movie scenes…next to Once Upon a Time in the West and Apocalypse Now. 👏👍
