Scripture is clear, a global flood.
ОтветитьIn Matthew 24:39, Jesus spoke about it “taking them all away.” Evolutionary anthropologists are convinced that humans had spread to cover the entire earth at the time of Noah. Peter seemed to express the worldwide flood in 2 Peter 2:5 & 2 Peter 3:6. There seems to be no gaps in the sedimentary formations in the geological record of ages. Marine fossils found at the summit of mountains is a good indication that something happened. Perhaps it’s a combination of both Biblical interpretation and scientific discovery. Either way, I appreciate all of your research and videos. This channel is stellar and is a great resource to all Christians regardless of interpretive matters. Grateful for you!
Ответить"Trees don't grow on very high mountains"
Appalachia:"I am a joke to you?!"
I dont think thats the whole idea. Your scientific explanation does not match the the thing in the bible.
ОтветитьIn Genesis 7:23, it says all living things "on the face of the earth" were destroyed. The Hebrew word for earth here is הָֽאֲדָמָ֗ה which cannot be translated as "the land" or "the region" but is only ever translated as "dirt" or "earth." So the best translation of the phrase is probably "Anything living that was standing on dirt was destroyed" not "Anything in that region."
I suppose you could still argue that the author was referring to just the soil that could be seen but that just feels like a forced interpretation to me.
The water did cover the whole earth, not just the areas where Noah lived, like some "scientists" (and speaker) think. That is why in parts of the earth, there are seashells and fish fossils on top of mountains.😊🇮🇱⛰️🕊️
ОтветитьIf it’s regional, it still would kill every human that wasn’t Noah’s family because at that time nobody had migrated far enough.
ОтветитьSo you’re saying the Bible lies?
ОтветитьI think it’s a pole shift Noah flood and Atlantis was at same time
ОтветитьYou obviously have no idea what the bible says, how it says it or why it says it.
ОтветитьGood video, i can appreciate the local flood pov, i currently hold the global view on account of the science; what we see with fossils found on mountain tops, grand canyon and so forth. I subscribe to the catastrophic plate theory, that there was some sort of pangea, and they separated when the fountains of the deep sprung open. As far as the olive branch, did it have to be a full grown tree? There was a period of time in which the waters were receding, and one of the main creationist theories is that the environment was alot different back then even after the flood and conditions were alot more conducive for life.
ОтветитьI'm a Christian, and I have no problem admitting that munch of the Old Testament is just Jewish Folklore. Now that Protestants have gotten over the idea of the inerrancy of the Church and of the Pope, why do Evangelicals want to set themselves up for a fall by pinning their hopes on Biblical inerrancy. Trying to twist the words of the Bible to try to fit the facts on the ground have convinced nobody of your cause, and have made you look pretty desperate in the process.
ОтветитьGlobal flood is easily refuted; the fossils in Grand Canyon are found in layers. There is not a single place there where fossils of one type of animal cross over into the fossils of another. If there was a global Flood, you would expect downing animals to swim up to a higher level. Not anyone of them did.
Ответитьl often brag, I'm NOT smart. So much so, I've only come to Jesus in my 40s, this year.
But even back then, a dolt like me could recognize it was not a flood that covered Earth, but covered the earth.
The flood happened in africa only
ОтветитьAfrica was called earth. Also remember God removed Cain off the face of the earth. If the face of the earth meant the intire earth then where did Cain go? The flood wasn't global. It happened in africa only, the only surviving African family was Noah all black people. Ham, Shem, and japhet was all africans who did as God told them and populated the whole entire world. CAIN is the vagabond in the earth whom was marked by God.
ОтветитьWhere Atlantis story came from maybe?
ОтветитьIf the flood is regional, the dove makes no sense to begin with.
ОтветитьThe table of nations argument makes no sense - if the flood has been global, then obviously we are only dealing with regional nations at that point because everyone else perished in the flood.
ОтветитьAny believer who rejects science is inferior
ОтветитьI take every word of the biblical flood story literally. Water also covered the entire earth 1600 years before the biblical flood, in it's first moments of existence after God created it. So, why is it so hard for some people calling themselves bible believers to believe water covered it again? Those that do not believe, simply do not want to believe, that's why. The Bible calls it "willing ignorance." These doubters also scoff at the obvious geological and fossil evidence all over the world of a global flood.
ОтветитьWhat if there were multiple regional floods all over the world.
ОтветитьI think it was a global flood and that the whole earth was radically changed by the flood water.
Ответитьthey intelligent past cities being uncovered, and noahs day were like race cars and horse and buggy, meaning, ice age is what i say wiped out all those incredible cities. and intelligent beings, and they try and lump noah and ice age together, so tired of lies, amen thank you i knew all of mankind did not come from one family, as if i was this stupid, amen
ОтветитьInspiring Philosophy does a lot of good work, but this video is WEAK. If the flood was local, the need for an Ark doesn't even make sense. People could have just walked somewhere else!
ОтветитьWhen there's a problematic section of the bible, all of these possible solutions come out to bend the text to our preferred interpretation: mistranslation, hyperbole, and cultural context. But when we find something we like, there's none of this scrutiny.
Ответитьit's because it's all my, because the boat come to rest on the top of a mountain water is not gonna get to the top of a really high mountain unless it flooded the whole earth
And there are tens of millions of Americans who believe every word of the flood story
You are just spinning the stories so you can maintain your belief
because you know as well as anyone else who knows a little bit of ancient history that this is just reworked Mesopotamian myth they let lose three birds their boat came to rest on the side of the mountain their god repented and promised never to flood the Earth again etc etc etc
Entire primordial history and genesis is Mesopotamian myth , God doesn't know the cosmology of the world etc because it was just ancient peoples doing the best they could to understand the world they lived in so for us to think any of that is real today tell us how foolish we are
and God didn't know about peoples anywhere else in the world because he isn't real god are creations of people that's why their knowledge is no higher than the people who created them
Pretty sure psalm 104 is referencing the flood. He talks about the promise that waters would never cover the whole earth again: the same promise God made after the flood. No such promise was made in the creation account
ОтветитьI love how you use scripture to help define scripture. You're great with context.
ОтветитьTo be honest I take the whole Bible literally. After all nobody has shown evidence that it was not global
ОтветитьIf local ... Noah could have just "went over there" to get out. Others would have followed as well. Too much global evidence.
ОтветитьThey are hiding the truth brother, i like your video but there is evidence of a global flood, but the ruler of the world tries to hide the evidence.
Ответитьbro cooked
ОтветитьWoohoo! A cat owner! I knew there was a reason I should like you!
ОтветитьSlippery slope. This can lead to statements like Jesus was just a man. He was a model but not God
ОтветитьThe flood was meant to wipe out the nephilim. It would not need to be worldwide and only have to kill off the bloodlines tainted by these hybrids
ОтветитьIf the flood was regional, does that mean not all humans came from Noah? Wouldn't that go against what the Bible says? And if it doesn't, what about the people who weren't descended from Noah? Did God have a covenant with them too?
ОтветитьWHY did GOD save the Flies, Mosquitoes, Ticks and Fleas? The Earth may not had total flooded? Did NOAH bring them in?
ОтветитьI believe in Bible and all that but the flood is one part of the Bible that never made sense to me
I mean there would obviously be some evidence of such a flood existing but as far as I'm aware there is none plus weren't there big civilizations like the Egyptians by this point how come they weren't wiped out?
One Chapter in the Bible tells me that the flood was NOT global. Psalms 104, nothing more.
ОтветитьIn a local flood, how would the ark float around for 10 months without hitting land?
ОтветитьApprox. 70% of the earth is ocean with an average depth of 3900 meters. So if earth were a perfect sphere, then the entire earth would be covered with water with an average depth of 2,500 meters, or 2.5 km, or 1.5 miles!
ОтветитьThe flood was more than just rain. The super continent Pangea was broken up into the current continents and they drifted to their current position in the space of approximately one year.
ОтветитьThe earth is flat, a flood does not make sense on a ball. Read your Bible
ОтветитьI have 5 more videos on the flood planned. I will address the historical case for the flood, the size of the ark, the dimensions of the ark, why Noah released birds and in the order he did, etc. Upcoming videos on the flood:
Noah's Flood: Biblical Archaeology
Genesis 6b: Judgement Declared
Genesis 7: The Flood
Genesis 8: Creation Renewed
Genesis 9: Meat and Rainbows
