How do you get the older stone texture and door sound on beta 1.7.3? I play on official launcher and I don't have this in the game

Lovely building for the miners' guild! Maybe a big smokestack would've been more appropriate than a simple chimney, since they'll need to smelt all the ores that they find. It would also help shift the tone of the build from a "cottage-like" to a more industrial style, as you said you wanted.

I'm really happy to have found this channel. Back in the day I used to watch every video of kurtjmac's older series, like the first season of Far Lands Or Bust or Combat Canyon... This has a lot of the same vibes and I can't believe how much I missed them.
I might even go diving through my old hard drives for my own Beta 1.7.3 worlds, which no living being has visited since early 2012!

I’m currently building a mod pack with the modern beta world gen mod so I can relive my childhood with my adult character :) no madpack so far has come close to ftb ultimate back in its hayday. I had a steady 8 servers on my list with a solid 20 or more player count. You just don’t see those numbers on any one pack today. Everyone’s spread across 100000modpacks

Omfg I love this older kind of content. It’s so relaxed and allows the viewer to take in the creators thoughts and see the end result of them. This reminds me of older ethoslab before he switched to a new world due to new world gen. The editing style too, blacking a few blocks then a jump cut to the build being 25% to 40% done and placing a few more blocks. There’s no external editing that builds expectation. Just jump cutting is enough for the viewer to enjoy their time watching the result come to fruition. Growing older life sucks, revisiting the old days of the internet brings back a lot of joy

Your playstyle, building style, and even voice reminds me A LOT of Coestar... good and simpler times...

I really like your Miner's Guild, it's a really cool build and I don't tend to beautify my mines, but you have inspired me to make my mines pretty. The attention to detail is so awesome, nice work!

This series really hit the spot for me, that cozy and relaxing gameplay that now it's retro style lol. This is so much like the Minecraft videos I used to watch back in 2012, just a player shaping the world around them and letting their imagination take over, it's really nice to see recent videos in this format. I also enjoy the more fast paced and EPIC!!1 style videos made in recent versions, but I tend to get too overwhelmed with those at times, so it's good to have another sort of Minecraft channel to watch when I want something more chill.

gosh darn, now i miss my beta world. My safe got corrupted and my cat threw the ssd the backup was on on the floor every now and again, so it's gone. Never finished the big plans i had, my city consisted of a few roads and two houses. And a few ships off the coast. I think the terraforming and crashes and size of my planned city burned me out. Would you recommand coming back to minecraft as a casual solo player? Does it still crash and reset chunks? How is your old save not corrupted or reset to natural generation?

In your world you have the old cobblestone textures and door sounds, but my world doesn’t have either and I am in the same version. Do you have some sort of texture pack or something?

Hey! I have a suggestion for the open space behind the guild. Back in the day guilds used to have patrons, a saint of sorts that gave them good luck. That little circle underneath the tree seems like a great place for an altar, maybe in the style like Skyrim's outdoor altars?

Also, your videos give me 2010 vibes. The nostalgia is very real :)

This is honestly top quality minecraft content, I don't recall ever seeing tnt being used for mining, even though that is its real world use. No, netherite mining does not count.

I think you'd do really well live streaming this world, the occasional building/update stream could be really nice
