You know Magneto has made mistakes but given where he's come from, what he's gone through & what he's lost, no one on earth can really blame him. His methods on how he goes about things is wrong, but the message isn't a bad one. He's seen more of the dark side of humanity than any other mutant in history has, survival is 2nd nature to him at this point.

Two things pop into my head when I see this clip, first the look of oh 💩we just asked a Holocaust survivor about where he was marked, incoming egg on face so she has to show her talent as a way of changing the subject, and the second is the movie Apt Pupil. Ian M. is a great actor.

This scene is honestly the reason why i love the X men. There are so many real world paralells. Especially when it comes to trans rights and LGBTQ+ rights in general. It's exactly what Stan Lee meant the x men to be.

Would my darling Callisto even understand what Erik was showing her? Or is she " one of us "- the grandchild of a Holocaust survivor? Is that why they bonded in what- five minutes?

I have spent the last half hour trying to find an explanation of this supposed class system, ut there ses to be no online discussion about it at all! As a wise purple guy once said: Fine. I'll do it myself.

I love that about magneto that because of his childhood he is fully aware of the evils of human nature you actually understand why he became a villain

I’m so use to seeing Julian richings playing with characters with a demanding presence like death in supernatural that it’s kinda weird seeing him raise his voice

It's sad that since we are moving so far away from WWII, future versions of Magneto won't have this tragic event in their backstory.

As a kid, you saw Magneto as a villain as an adult, you begin to see how right he was, how hateful humans are towards each other, and to everything and everyone who is different. And if mankind was ever to begin evolving in some way but some didnt, those who didnt evolve would try and kill everyone who was more powerful than them.

It always makes me a little sad when I realize that most people who "learned" about Marvel through the movies will never understand that X-men was the king of Marvel and Avengers were always second fiddle but fate ended up switching those roles and X-men had to be the guinea pigs for bringing big heroes to the big screen. I sometimes wish it had been different and we got the washed down version of the Avengers and the great version of the X-men they deserved.

Magneto was a villain that you struggled to dislike. He has literally seen this happen before, suffered it, seen millions of people murdered by the very same kind of people now opposing mutants.

Unneeded Evil Jean plot aside, this was another movie that was diminished by Logan, a movie I cannot understand why is so aclaimed. Bare in mind the first movie was about mutants being discriminated and hunted and so was the second, both great movies to me. But each one of this trilogy ended up well for mutants just to start over again in the next. I liked the movies that followed, the prequels. But all of the movies of the franchise are rendered pointless in Logan. No matter this fight, no matter later fights, no matter time travelling of some sort to finally achieve peace, mutants were again being hunted and being exterminated. I h4te that movie.
