ОтветитьAnd yet they say apple has good security 🤣🤣 thank god i dont use shitty apple products 🤭🤭
Ответитьyeah i saw it pop up on my phone and already knew it was a scam.
ОтветитьThanks brandon this helped alot always watch your videos keep them coming 🙏
ОтветитьI've been using my iPhone more lately but never encountered such scam the airways are clean no one is spamming me now
Ответитьnever had this issue till time
iPhone 13 128gb iOS 17.4.1 the same in iPad 9 gen 256gb iPadOS 17.4.1
My Apple ID is an email I use no where else, and my phone number is not attached to my Apple ID. I feel like that is the best defense against this sort of nonsense.
Ответить"I will never use an Android, they get hacked, iPhones are very secure and can't get hacked!"
Isn't that what yall said? 😂😂
Wouldn’t access iCloud data on web turned off help?
ОтветитьThank you for this video,, I am trying to Opt Out of Peekyou website, its really crazy they are not sending me a email back to let me confirm it.. Its really a pain to get removed from some of the websites.. Some of them will let you with no problem but some wont.. But the one peekyou has the most info even my mail address in the wide open..

Ответитьif i get a uknown call i tap the i go down and i block the numbers
Ответитьi like iphone cause of itunes cards and dis rapper emoji app
ОтветитьI do not understand why you insist that using Security Keys is not a protection from this type of scam. In both this video and in the previous video, you claim that someone who claims to be from Apple (and who spoofs Apple's phone number on Caller ID) requests a two-factor code in order to verify the victim's identity. But if someone has their AppleID account protected with Security Keys, then there is no such thing as a two-factor code anymore. There would be no way to give the scam caller a two-factor code because there won't be any code to give to them. I've tried to replicate resetting my Apple ID password multiple times and I cannot get it to send me a two-factor code. The system requests that I connect my security key into my iPad or to place it against the top of my iPhone.
ОтветитьThat’s why I’m moving to android
ОтветитьThis happened to me back when they released the last iPod touch came out back in 2019. I kept taking it to the Apple Store and no one would help me. The Apple Store ended up deleting the Apple ID so now the Apple ID is still stuck on the device so it’s useless.
ОтветитьThank You for this! I’ve been looking to have my address remove from the web but didn’t know if it was possible without having to pay!
ОтветитьI never answer calls from unknown numbers, neither do I ever call anyone else using my cellphone. If I’m forced to give a phone number I make one up. Any deliveries I’m expecting are told I will not answer the phone & they have to come to the door and ring the bell.
ОтветитьHi Brandon. I watch every of your videos for a very long time. I love it, but please change your hair or camera angle. It is not pleasant to watch for some reason. Really not hating.
Ответить🐸🐸 Brandon, thx so much for your service to the digital communities at large!!❤️
ОтветитьPeople can also use the sound frequency from key pad to figure out the password/OTP. Never type codes on keypad during a call.
ОтветитьGet Hub?? You talk pretty fast.
Ответитьno luck removing my personal info from people search
ОтветитьLittle note for the One-Time code thing:
No company will send one and then call you unexpectedly. I worked at a few companies that would use OTC as a way to verify people, while on the call we would send a code and ask the person on the other side to repeat it. We don’t know what code was sent, it’s generated when we click send.
So if you get a code and then a call you weren’t expecting, don’t share it.
-If your bank is calling over a potential fraud thing, they have your account open already and they’re calling the number on file, they might do a couple quick questions to make sure they did call the right person and that your number hasn’t changed but they won’t send any codes until they’ve established identities.
If you call the bank, internet provider or who else, they might use the code thing to establish identity as a last resort but they’ll do it because you called first.
And don’t forget social engineering is used against businesses to try getting customer info from employees, sometimes you can be as secure as possible but one mistake by an employee at a company you buy from can take you down.
Tried “Been Verified” and you have to pay for it. Also not much help outside of the US as so many of us are! 😔
ОтветитьUnless I’m wrong. Possible. But you can’t change your Apple ID email. At least not using Hide My Email. That’s what I was told from the Apple forums.
ОтветитьLet me give everyone some advice. Never give any one information on a call THEY initiated. This is basic phone security 101.
If you get a call from the apple support number, ask for their name and then say YOU will ring them straight back on the support number.
If they day no don't do that, then guess what, they are scammers. If they say nothing, hang up and ring support.
Never do anything with information someone has sent you. Even an invoice sent to you online. Ring the company before you pay and make sure the pay to details in the invoice are correct, then save those details jf you think you might use them again.
So many people get caught using information, numbers, links etc someone has sent.
Solution; Always be the one that initiates the call or obtains the information. Never let someone else tell you what number or link, you should use. Look them up, for pity's sake.
Stay safe 😊
There are Goggle scams out there to and Microsoft scams
ОтветитьI am in my 80’s. I am forced to own all of these silly gadgets in order to function in this world gone mad with techie stuff. They are merely tools of Global spying. Apple spies on us via those who owns their devices, and now I find out that Apple devices are not securing us from attacks from outside cyber attacks! The instructions you give to “fix” the issues are overwhelming. I remember the good old days when people interacted in person and local businesses were our resources. Wake up people…we seriously need to “go back to the future”. Shame on Apple and shame on Globalism and shame on all of us for allowing consumerism to consume us.
ОтветитьI didn’t even know of such happenings until I saw this video. Thanks Brandon for always being on top of things (everything apple).
Ответитьi just got it now but as a pop up not a notification
ОтветитьI'm so glad I have a pixel. Apple has had tons of security issues over that last 2 years
ОтветитьThanks for the info.
ОтветитьApple GAVE my unique account email to someone without my permission or even knowledge!!! I always used an email address for my apple account that I never used for anything else, but it showed up is someone else's iPhone without anyone asking for that!!! Possibly when I airdropped them some pictures... Their iPhone automatically updated my contact info or something and they emailed me at it and asked what something in the email address meant. They thought it was a weird address for me to be using, but also assumed it was my current standard email address. I wouldn't even have known it had been shared if they hadn't started using it!
It disturbed and upset me! Is there a way to stop my iPhone from ever doing that again?
Internet is getting to be such a problem with scams I’m about ready to ditch online altogether. My CC card was breached twice in the last year. I’m bombarded with scam texts daily. Blissfully ignorant might not be such a bad way to live.
My CC recently got rejected at register and shortly thereafter I got a call from my bank. I refused to give any info and waited until I got home and called the bank. It was a legit call from bank but who’s to know these days. Daily monitoring my accounts aren’t really how I want to spend my downtime.
you recommend in here that for bank logins and appleid logins that account holders use email addresses uniquely for that service. Can you explain why? And would a Gmail address with “+bank” on the end be sufficient or do you recommend an entirely separate email address?
Ответитьlol just don’t sign in to iCloud!
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThank you for your helpful videos! Last week someone from “Public Service “ called me two times in a row, I didn’t answer either one, and they didn’t leave a message- definitely suspicious and probably a scam.
ОтветитьNo
ОтветитьiPhone
ОтветитьActually a financial institution asked me for a code to verify it was me, but I called them to do an over the phone transaction. So yes, sometimes they do but not if they call you.
ОтветитьStop using Google
ОтветитьThank you 🙏 for your advice 👍
ОтветитьI thought there was supposed to be a link here on where to go to delete my information off the web. Unfortunately, there isn't. Does anyone have such a link?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this!
ОтветитьIt's not unlikely!!!! I'll say again it's not unlikely. All it takes is your Gmail account. I've watched his first video, and he must have gotten a phone call because that's not what he said in the last video.
ОтветитьThere has been a LOT of confusion on this scam. Hopefully this helps clarify the issue & precautions to take! 🔐
