Woah, the PTA has entered the comment section… this was quite a beautiful movie. It’s wild how ow many people are just throwing tomatoes at it so quickly before they’ve even seen it.

This movie might as well be rated X. This was not the movie I was expecting. The actors did well at portraying their characters, but the nudity was more than I thought it would be. Full frontal nudity and showing men's penises (several) was not exactly what I was expecting to see.

Just seen this at the cinema… it’s amazing, quirky, beautifully staged … somehow like a Victorian painting crossed with fantasy . It’s also a celebration of the main character’s growth and self-determination. Loved it 100%

People who like this should be on a list, no joke. Any ounce of criticism will get you "media illiteracy" accusations, even when you try to point out how this (like many other "feminist" pieces of media) uses the "reclaiming" excuse to play right into the status quo. Why are all of the cast members so strange looking. The lead actress is very pale in color with pink eyelids. I can certainly tell the movie will be something out of the ordinary because of the makeup of the weird looking people.

This film looks incredibly bad (despite the reviews). In an 82 second trailer, Bella jumps up on/mounts a vertically oriented male visitor; assaults 2 separate potential suitors with punches to their faces; throws food at the face of another male social partner of some sort; and seemingly, in hopes of making another male social "interactee" feel more comfortable/"normal" (? by bella pretending to be stricken with a similar affliction), Bella then mocks some doddering old man with an embarrassingly disturbing facial twitch.
It's as if THE THREE STOOGES (with Joe Besser, not Curly) decided to adapt "Candide"-- btw, the character of Candide is played by Joe DeRita. lol
And then to cover up all the bullshit of the "absurdist"/read pointless science fiction plot (oh, let's see: for no real discernible reason, a deformed Willem Dafoe (a mad scientist) transplanted the brain of a female infant into the body of a fetching adult [who just so happens to be her mum]), we're treated to some wizened old fart masquerading as a wisdom spewing font for the ages telling us:
"A woman plotting her course to freedom? How delightful"...yes, it might be if that were the essence of the film but it's not. what a frighteningly bullshit set of concepts. Plus, the CGI special effects look terrible.

I'd love to see Willem Dafoe finally win an Oscar, he's deserved for a long time, he's always so wonderful and talented!
