The idea that the only reason to remake Harry Potter is to make money is INSANE. The choice to keep the font, music, sets and style is KEY - it's all essentially the trademark - the identification within the market - and it's nostalgic. It's almost as iconic as the characters and plot itself. The reason to remake Harry Potter has ALWAYS been (since Azkaban) that in stories this rich, long and complete - you CANT tell anything even close to the whole story in a film - not even in a two-parter. I can't wait and am very glad Rowling wouldn't let go - Hollywood and Disney have demonstrated over and over what they do and how wildly they deviate from original material if they have the freedom to. In a few decades they'll have the freedom to take all her ideas and play as fast and loose with them as their hearts desire - when her copyrights completely run out. Until then - well - thank whatever you believe in that the author is powerfully involved.

The stories are already written! If you are bringing them to life on screen you need to stick to the source material. If you want to make a bunch of changes, then write and watch something entirely original. Don't produce crap that piggybacks off the success of the source material (attention Disney!). I think it is way too early to remake these movies! I also think that MOST movies do not need remakes. Hollywood writers need to be fired if they can't produce anything other than shitty remakes!

Rowling is allowed her views on topics just like we all are allowed them. Many of us also have actual direct bosses that have opinions we do not agree with. That is part of being a human; living and working with people with different opinions to our own as well as those with similar opinions.

I was just barley 8 years old when the first film was released. Growing up with the same people playing the same characters for a decade, besides Dumbledore obviously, I could never watch any remake with a different cast.

All the issues you pointed out in the video aren't issues. You repeating the same bs a lot of people do just for hating Rowling. The only thing that needs change in the saga is portraying the books properly.

The movies are basically not canon so I'd love to see if the series follows the story faithfully. I love the original movies but for those who grew up reading the books, the movies are disappointing! Hermione became the only brain from the trio and a lot of the Ron and Harry we see in the books got erased. Characters got erased. Plots from one book ended up in a different movie because they cut it off the original story and then realized it was an important part and had to add it to a following movie... long story short: the movies made a mess and a joke of Harry Potter and I'm willing to watch it from scratch if they improve the quality.
