ОтветитьI had a 2008 Z06 loved it. Nothing like that LS7 until...... a valve drops and the engine goes bye bye because of the machining errors GM had with the factory heads , or the rod coating that rubs off when the rods flex and rub together because GM cheaped out on the coating process and the engine goes bye bye. Other than the complete engine failures the car has and the inability to purchase a LS7 anymore its a fantastic machine .......

ОтветитьThe C6 Z06 is my favorite iteration of the Corvette. The C7, as you said, is an upgrade as far as the interior and performance goes, but the price tag was increased considerably (relatively speaking) and for me I am not so sure it’s worth it.

In my country it is easier to find a Lambo or a Ferrari than regular Corvette.
No deals on c6 z06's.... many are asking at least 45k

ОтветитьNot sure it was mentioned, but the 427 has an engine problem. Look it up. But once the correction is done, it a pretty dependable car. But you got to make the fix.

ОтветитьDon't put your golf clubs in the trunk a friend did it with his car and had to replace the back window. The only down fall with the Z06 golf clubs need to be in the passenger seat.

ОтветитьC6 was the last properly looking Corvette. Everything after that is a styling diarrhoea.
ОтветитьC6 post-facelift was one of the most pleasantly surprising cars I've ever driven. Never having sat in a Corvette before, I got into it with all sorts of prejudices re the handling, etc. And I'm happy to say I was completely wrong. Not only did it feel very fast and predictable and "honest" on a track, but totally liveable on the road as well. Sure: Even after the facelift, the interior doesn't hold a candle to contemporary 911s or Boxsters, the stock seats (base model, not Z06) felt weirdly "couchy" and over-sprung for a sports-car and you're not getting the same amount of street-cred/brand as you would with a 911. But this was still one hell of a car and one I'd still be happy to own and daily drive. Problem with these over here in Europe was (probably still is) that they were priced to compete with the 911 - not as a blue-collar guy's sports-car.

ОтветитьNever been much of a fan of american v8's. But the ls7 was one of the nest sounding v8's. And chevy really went ham with the performance on this.
