rap or hip hop invented by the great swede evert taube in 1927 song was called kinesiska muren
ОтветитьThe birth of hip hop was in the south cut the nonsense its been around over 50 years.
ОтветитьYo. Is that Ice Cube's Son playing Kool Herc?
Ответитьcaptions said, "part of people in the place to be". smh. Lets keep in mind that "Toasting" was happening in Jamaica before and throughout this era.
ОтветитьDid they call someone grand wizard in a history of hip hop video?
ОтветитьThis one is so funny cause of how technically focused Quest gets at random intervals
ОтветитьCool story bro. Kool Herc didn't create Hip Hop or the Breakbeat. Kool Herc created the Merry-Go-Round. Hip Hop evolved from different elements of the Native Black American Culture over the span of the Century. James Brown is the Godfather of Hip Hop.
ОтветитьUmmm.... Caz did not give him anything... He stole it. 😂 😂 😂
ОтветитьSOOOO Jackin for beats was always
ОтветитьHappy 50th
Ответитьcelebrating 50! congratulations, y'all!
ОтветитьHappy 50th Hip-Hop!!!
ОтветитьWhy did 2Pac, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Fat Joe start a band?
Because they heard they could finally solve every problem with a rap battle royale!
❤
ОтветитьThe True Rap/Hip Hop Mount Rushmore:
James Brown, George Clinton, DJ Flowers, DJ Hollywood, Disco King Mario, The Black Spades, Dewey "Pigmeat" Markham, The Jubalaires, Luis Armstrong, The Mills Brothers, The 1st Gen. New York B-Boys and many many other FBA'S who inspired them.
None were Jamaican, Bahamian or Puerto Rican!
That's a LIE Herc was not yhe first to used Two turntables other djs were using two turntables before herc. Such as Disco Mario, Grandmaster Flowers, Kool DJ Dee.
ОтветитьThe True Hip Hop Founding Fathers of Hip Hop are GrandMaster Flowers, Disco Mario, DJ Pete Jones, kool DJ DEE, DJ Smokey, and green eye genie. Some of these African American DJs were playing the breakbeat. The get down part vefore herc. flash, and bamaataa.
ОтветитьHerc was not the first to play the breakbeat, the get down part, extending the breakbeat. He did not have the first Jip jop party.
ОтветитьBatman didn't say that, the Joker did. I doubt any of this story is even true at this point. Fiction can be fun smh
Ответить!Questlove
ОтветитьErkle!
ОтветитьDance Hall is a music genre that emerged from Jamaica. Where people with sound systems would set up and play music for their neighbors. Eventually setting up and you would have "selectors" who would give "shout outs" thus we have Dane Hall. One of the first would be Lee Roy - Wake the town.
Interestingly you would have Cool Herc who would attend these Dance Hall events and he would eventually move to NY and apply those same skills and would eventually make Hip-hop 😉😀😜

Happy 💚 day

so hilarious :D
Ответить<3 Questlove!!!!!!
ОтветитьThe fact they didn't mention Grandmaster Flowers makes all of this null and void
ОтветитьSugar Hill gang were basically the first "plants" in hip hop
ОтветитьI wish they touched on Blondie and "Raptures" role in hip hop
ОтветитьThis made me smile
ОтветитьWhatchu know about Tah and Tee-Tee-Tah's?
ОтветитьHerc was not the 1st dj to use 2 turntables. Lots of false info here.
ОтветитьI hate to hurt y'all feelings King disco Mario
ОтветитьThere were other DJs with two turntables extending the beats. However; DJ Kool Kerc stated he accidentally played a Merry-Go-Around off of James Brown music by watching the crowd do their special dance. I rather listen to the actual person than hear other folks add their own twist or lies to someone else story.
ОтветитьThis is propaganda. DJ Disco Mario was throwing parties and spinning the breaks before Kool Herc. This lie has been told for decades because Hip Hop history is being told by people who were not there. The true Hip Hop Pioneers already debunked this nonsense.
ОтветитьIs that Pete? From Pete & Pete?
ОтветитьBusta? Fat Joe?
ОтветитьI’m from the Bronx during that era. Cool Herc was not the first to DJ on the break.
ОтветитьYou forgot the part about the Rappers being robbed and how Cas is now touring with the group.
Ответитьno chains black medallions keep keepin it real quest
Ответитьthe part about the mom yelling at the kid and creating scratching reminds me of everybody hates chris 🤣
ОтветитьWho wrote this story?
ОтветитьDefinitely got misty eyed during the quest love segment. Hip hops origins are so monumental. I remember making it a point to memorize Rapper's Delight when I was like 6 bc my uncle was stuck back in time lol
ОтветитьQuestlove forgot to mention that Kool Herc is from The Bronx Rap (Hip Hop) was invented in The Bronx New York.
Ответить‘’The best babysitter I ever had was my dad’s turntable’’. How many of you felt that growing up?!
Ответитьnah too detailed for some history on hiphop. "some Jamaican guy came to america and he invented it" done with the video
ОтветитьThis gave me chills, anybody else?
ОтветитьQuest love ain’t he the guy who won that Oscar after will smith slapped Chris rock
Ответить
