That was a whole lot of blood. I would generally agree, that the 50 is a bit overkill for most game. The Zebra is a large animal and as long as you don't shoulder shoot the thing you won't waste much meat. I've shot a lot of deer with a 30-378 Weatherby, as long as you don't hit the shoulder it preserves almost all of the meat.
