One of the Quarrymen's favourite cinemas, in Woolton Village, known as the "Bug House", was saved from closure by one of The Beatles.

Based in Woolton Village, just down the road from St. Peter's Church where John Lennon met Paul McCartney, Woolton Picture House was often visited by John and his friends, especially to watch the "cowboy" films on Saturday mornings.
It has faced closure several times and in 2006, the cry went out to save the cinema - it was saved by a Beatle!
