Cugnot's steam-powered carriage hardly qualifies as a car and is impractical and basically useless. Carl Benz's patent motorwagon was a toy for rich people until someone figured it out. His wife Betha figured it out. Benz's car did not have a 2 stroke engine. It had a camshaft and an "open to the world" crankcase.

The funny thing is that ‘LEAN’ manufacturing and other similar methods are actually derived directly from Frederick Winslow Taylor, who, in my opinion, was the original founder of these industrial efficiency principles. Sadly, he rarely gets credited for his ideas since other people have claimed them as their own.

Also, every Model T came with a copy of Ford's "The International Jew" which inspired a young German politician named Adolf Hitler.
Changed the world in more ways than one.

It should be noted that the Model T wasn't that successful initially as it was still comparitively expensive compared to workers wages. It did however rapidly gain popularity mid to the end of life when many were richer.

Truth.. while all other automobiles manufacturers were seeking the path of greed by focusing on the wealthy.... Henry because of his background was seeking the poor people, who of course was at the time 99% of the people.

Cheap affordable transportation that any man could own. Before the model T people would sometimes never travel more than twenty miles from their home in a lifetime. I worked for a man who remembered going for a drive in a model T on Sundays. He said you would look for the deepest ruts in the road and follow them because they would lead to the homes of the prettiest girls. When you arrived you would introduce yourself and then sit on the front porch and talk to the girls. He grew up in Kentucky.

Very interesting but get rid of the annoying background clicking, drumming, noise, music.
Either we listen to you narating the story or we have to listen to that brain dead background noise ,you no doubt call music.
Do you play this background noise when you speak to someone on the phone or face to face?
Do you get paid or sponsored to put that background noise in?

Henry Ford was a complicated man. He cared deeply for both his employees and his customers. He was the sort of boss everyone wishes they could work for. However, he was also a Nazi sympathizer.

The "big three", Ford, GM, and Cadillac? Sorry, Cadillac was part of GM, even then. Chrysler was the other automaker. Get your basic facts straight!

It's interesting that Ford's techniques did so much to shape manufacturing -- and therefore, to shape modern society. I wonder how different things would be now if this technique had been pioneered by someone who wasn't... you know... a monster.

As grand as this (inevitably conceived) invention of process is, I'll never in my life forget the things I learned about Henry Ford while writing a paper in high school. Some random assignment to write about a figure on history led me to his awful nature and renown and recognition by a certain German party during WW2. Despite anything else then and since, he's forever colored as despicable to me and the same goes for the company itself, too. It's strange how the opinion of a person can dismantle their achievements at the time and since.

Those ‘crafters’ that you mentioned were parts of what was called a Coachbuilder. Basically you would buy the chassis, wheels, steering wheel and the seats and all the mechanical stuff from the car manufacturer, and then you would get the bodywork done at a coachbuilder of your choice.

I'm afraid your facts are a little off. Some of these innovations Ford came up with himself. Henry Ford had the intelligence and know how to introduce a lot of these reductions of time consuming tasks. All these other companies had plenty of time before Ford. Your video and explanation contradicts itself.
