The first episode bored me lmafo, so I dropped it, it wasn’t a few days after Andor ended that I decided to pick it up again, omg, best decision ever, the show is so good.

If this show is that good, how come no one watches it a second time. I mean if it’s the best Star Wars, and it’s the way Star Wars should be then explain to me why the prequels are still considered the greatest MODERN Star Wars ever made. Like ok Andor, it was good. But what exactly did it contribute to the bigger story? Absolutely nothing. I would argue that Rogue One is twice is rewatchable than even 1 episode of Andor. The style of Andor; ABSO-fuckin-LUTLEY is what everyone wants in anything Star Wars. But the season itself is extremely forgettable and extremely “MEH”. All because it contributes very little to the main plot. The only thing it contributes is how the guy got from ANDOR to Rogue One, right? And how Mon Mothma became to be. That is absolutely it that it contributes.

I love the politics of Star Wars and i think it is one of the best part of the prequels (clone wars included). I like the pan back and forth in Andor of the politicians in their beautiful homes to the working class people going along with their day to day life, each with their own struggle and problems they have to resolve

It's like "loving a sandwich filled with c®@p", and at the same time, being "fairly critical of a good stone oven pizza"

Awful Andor, why it is so rubbish! Lack of a proper plot, a meandering story line, no continuity & sheer laziness by Lucas Films! Sorry, but Awful Andor is of very poor quality!

Disagree with the flashbacks in S01E01-03 - the payoff is the interposed symmetry of Maarva taking Young Cassian off Kanari and Luthen taking him off Ferrix. It'd be a shame to lose that moment for a faster pace.

Your first point of shot size...

I was just watching Ahsoka and there's a scene where Sabine is in her room being sad...and instead of a close up on her face, we've got an entire shot of the room....why? Did they think we forgot we were in star wars and had to constantly remind us by sticking alien shit in every shot, distracting us from what we should be focusing on? Show the sad characters sad face!....so fucking annoying.

It’s not. It’s really not. Not even close. You’ve just been used to being shovelled such abysmal Star Wars content, you were just craving something “different” and have gamed yourself

People eat and drinking. Cold breath in the snow? This is the bar for greatness? Come on now

I really liked the perspective of just random people and the Empire. TIE fighters don't come off as threatening since they're typically destroyed as quickly as one would eat popcorn. However, when you're not the hero, it actually seems scary. A Star Destroyer isn't just something for the good guys to annihilate, it's legitimately intimidating. The idea that these people could just exterminate everything and everyone you care about in moments is terrifying. And having seen Rogue One, obviously know how this all ends, but it doesn't mean the adventure there is a bad ride. Diego Luna really sells it.

Andor, why it struggles like most Disney/Lucas Film projects. By bringing the series Andor after the film, this does contribute to a very negative concept. You have all this stuff going on, but lacks the continuity to do a proper follow up.

I'm sure you know exactly what people mean when they criticize certain star wars products over politics, and your point on that is the only thing I'd say I disagree with in the video. No one has a problem with George Lucas drawing inspiration from the VC or subtle notes about the reawakening a fascism in the Force awakens. It's about Disney trying to pass off shoddy products as Star Wars cannon, and then using real world intersectional politics as shield against critics and as a sword against long time fans of the franchise to justify a lack of creativity or originality.

The fact that we can relate to Syril and to others like him who work for the empire is what makes this show brilliant. None of the "bad guys" represents the kind of demonic villainy we have come to expect from Star Wars. Instead they are represented as ordinary people who "are just doing their job." This is what's called the banality of evil. We know Vader is evil, we know Palpatine is evil , Snokes, etc, but what's refreshing about Andor is its presentation of the regular people who ran the empire, people who went home at the end of the day, and did regular ordinary things.

Loved this video man...Andor is a masterpiece and my favorite Star Wars. But that last comment... don't be throwing my Tales of the Jedi Dooku episodes under the bus. The Dooku episodes in tales are a masterpiece as well. Hehehe. And not for the Yaddle scene alone. But the two episodes prior to that are great political commentary as well. Tales is GREAT. In fact when I saw Andor and then Tales came out I was excited that we were entering a GOLDEN AGE of Star Wars. I said "Disney figured it out!" But then... Mando Season 3 happened... Bad Batch Season 2 was GREAT though. Hopefully Ahsoka is fairly mature and character driven.

Andor is real Star Wars, ironically as it were, with no cameos from title characters.... Instead it's the real empire, the real galactic struggle, and this, finally, the real rebellion.

@The Gold Man your weakest remarks: flashback tells cassian hidden motivation of hate for empire, in 5 points 1) his sister and friends were killed by crashed ship crew, thats his trauma, 2)he is the last of kenari of his world bcoz of empire, which caught Luthens interest in him 3) he became a smugglers of empires tech due to Marvas past smuggling days n hate for the empire(she was there to steal empire tech) 4) Marva brainwashed him 5) cassian belongs to a fighter tribe where even kids are trained in operating in the wild with courage n weapons

If you think that mom wants whats best for Cyril, your notion of mothering could use some serious review. She is the trope of a parent who doesn't actually believe in its son's potential nor understand its values, but minds his life to fill the misery of her own existence.

Quality production, good character arcs, and solid story structure, but still ends up being slow and boring all throughout with a handful of good moments, like Luthen's speech or the prison break. I'd take your conclusion one step further and say that Andor just isn't for Star Wars fans, but it looks like it is.

And yes, I do want to see more of the legacy characters after putting up with watching their characters get assassinated one by one. But I also want to see more of new characters like The Mandalorian and Grogu. Just not Andor. I'd rather see more of characters we've already seen, and see them done really well, than see new characters like him that aren't appealing. As for politics, yes, more Prequel-style politics please.

There’s a difference between a show’s message or plot being political and the contents of the show being woke. Disney is woke and it’s annoying. This show has its woke moments but the writing and characters and story were good enough to overcome it. Everyone will tolerate wokeness if the story is good. When you combine bad story with wokeness you get basically every other Disney Star Wars project.

Good video though. Great show. Tlj still sucks

Galactic Empire was originally portraited as "faciscts on Space". On Andor, it showed it was "USSR on Space". The themes borrowed heavly of Gulag Archipelado (Nirkama 9 Prisions are really islands, such nice hint) and all he sucession of opression on Soviet Russia described by Solzhenytsin. The ISB was NKVD on white, steady of blue.

what I find really interesting is how cassian isn't as rebel to begin with, he's just a thief. But the empire is so sure that a rebel stole from them and are so certain that cassian is a rebel that they eventually push him into becoming one
