Gun laws eased the way

Holocaust stories tell of horror, hope” (Herald and News April 27) compels me to respond.
While in Europe in July 1995 we toured the infamous Mauthausen Concentration Camp outside Linz, Austria. Mauthausen was established as a satellite to Dachau and Buchenwald. Aside from the Nazi death and concentration camps, the mega mass murder of Jews commenced with the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941 during World War II (1939-1945).
Following behind the German Army or Wehrmacht were Nazi SS mobile killing squads called Einsatzgruppen. In 1941 and ‘42 these SS death squads murdered beyond one million Russian Jews.
Historian and scholar Raul Hilberg reveals a basic hard truth most people today refuse to accept. That so few (3,000 SS men in the Einsatzgruppen) could murder so many, can thus be simply explained: The killers were well armed, organized, and the victims were unarmed. The same civilian disarmament and gun control laws enacted under the brutal Bolshevik and Communist regimes of Lenin and Stalin, enabled the Nazis to murder masses of Soviet Jews. *Too, the murderous Soviet Cheka and later NKVD (Soviet Secret Police) under Lavrenti Beria, were the terror equal to Nazi Germany's dreaded SS and Gestapo.

Like the *Armenian genocide of World War I (1914-1918) the Nazi and Communist Holocausts (the Holodomor was the Soviet version of the Holocaust), were empowered by civilian disarmament via criminal totalitarian regimes. Both JPFO, Inc. (www.jpfo.org) and The John Birch Society (www.jbs.org) deserve credit for their documentary research exposing the evils of gun control.

Must we be reminded the Empire of Japan was an Axis partner with Nazi Germany, as well as Fascist Italy under Dictator Benito Mussolini? Other Fascist regimes included Juan Peron of Argentina and Francisco Franco of Spain. Franco's regime was the result of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Totalitarian National socialism was personified by Communist, Nazi, and Fascist regimes. Collectively these were murderous, godless, evil, genocidal, and anti-Christian!
