The Halo Remaster We Deserved Has Arrived.

Looks amazing. Most of the complaints I've heard about the original remaster relate to atmosphere primarily.

My issue with stuff like the spores re-animating corpses, Is that it wouldn't be Halo:CE.
It's meant to be the same exact game, only prettier.

Oh yeah, the real-time infection. The fans did find a way to implement this for Halo CE, mainly custom edition.
There are some mods and custom missions that utilizes this. Well known is SPV3.

One thing to point out is this is not a remaster, its a reMAKE. Remakes are when you actually make a different game while a reMASTER is a simple graphics update.

One thing I did not like about the anniversary edition from 343. We were able to return to the original graphics, but never the original sound effects. That really bothered me.

and 343i are not going to support MCC any more? Pathetic.

It always bothered me how the assault rife sounded amazing and powerful in Halo 1.
Then was completely nerfed in Halo 3... sounding like an airsoft gun. If you agree great.
Any Halo fan that appreciates sound design would like to hear what's going on with that in this mod.

the original remaster was so low effort, idk why but the keys model irked me the most, he looked like a plastic surgery vicitim and in all
his cut scenes after the autum he is still in his captains navy outfit instead of the marine tactical gear hes wearing in every scene in the original

Mint, I love you, but come on. Not even you believed it when you said this looks like AAA quality. This looks worse than the 2010 remaster, and that came out thirteen years ago. This looks like Halo 3 ODST shoehorned into CE level maps.

While I agree that the 2010 remaster of Combat Evolved looked a little too bright and clean in the Flood levels, the answer was not to make it look worse by using fucking ODST assets. Halo 3 ODST is notorious for how terrible the color contrast is. It's why you're forced to use VISR mode in broad daylight just to be able to see absolutely anything. I don't want to trash on a single person trying to make a project on their own but this really looks like garbage.

Modding continues to destroy games we love. Modders need to be stopped, this shit is fucking trash.

After being disappointed with how 343 handled the franchise and seeing Master Cheeks in that abomination of a show, I will say learning of this Halo: CE update is a breath of fresh air.

343 had some great ideas, but they just take fan favorite things out of halo. Like taking the soul out of Combat evolved, with the remaster.

The main thing to consider with Halo CE AE was the fact it was using the original engine. It's great in that it replicates the gameplay but bad in that there's only so much you can do with the game. The game had the new graphics over the top of the old game rather than this mod which appears to be from the ground up.

The biggest crime that official remaster did was not modifying the game engine (Halo CE) to allow for flood infection forms to reanimate the dead corpses, this was lore-established in Halo 3 but in the books was canon as far back as Halo: The Flood.
This alone would have made the flood levels even more tense and scary just like in Halo 3

I do love this mod, but I honestly prefer the old Covenant AI and voices.

The flood should be like the Zerg from Starcraft.. horrific, parasite, swarms….

Halo CEA was such a big miss. They ruined the atmosphere in so many flood levels, on classic and new graphics.

Honestly, a lot of things in halo ce anniversary... are just too bright and not enough contrast / dark areas. Everything is just BRIGHT and overly detailed (eg: library is crazy greebled needlessly)

I want a halo 3 remake with infinite engine... dont get me wrong infinite is hot garbage but the gameplay felt way more like halo than 4 and 5
