I did the same thing as you with Under the Whispering Door, I absolutely loved House in the Cerulean Sea, became one of my favorites of all time, and heard about his new book. Hey if you need another middle grade read (I absolutely love Keeper of the Lost Cities) I'm just finishing the Frostheart trilogy and it is a wonderful wonderful read with lots of pages (but the flow makes it a fast read), lovely illustrations, and a wonderful story and characters I loved to death! So I'm recommending it 😂
