Shovel knight still has not come out in Japan so I highly doubt he will ever get into smash, plus sense he is an Indy character what is going to stop some from want someone from completely left field from a franchise most casual gamers would not know. Which is why I feel the Shovel Knight has the same amount of chance as Goku, Shrek, Master chief, and Banjo & Kazooie have of getting in.

I think they put the strip because someone could buy the amiibo use all they content they want, and return it without opening it.
