Missable trophies, especially after finding out I've already missed them

multiplayer trophies truly are heart breaking

That last one has happened to me twitch, most recently with the game party hard. As I saw it was going to be leaving the ps extra games. So I figured, why not it's a fairly easy game and it saves me some money. Got the last trophy and realized no platinum follow up. Looked at it and realized it had none. I don't get any game that has trophies not including a platinum. >.>

Online multiplayer trophies need to stop and luck based trophies also and grinding trophies

Ok. No joke. When a game I like has no platinum... it's a harrowing feeling.

I have one: trophies that require you to have PS+ for a single-player game.

Multiplayer achievements should be eradicated.

Trophies that require something specific for an entire run, i.e. kingdom hearts 1.5 use default equipment the ENTIRE TIME.

he trophies I dread the most are those in little subcategories where they're all basically the same, but you can only get one per playthrough. Like Trails of Cold Steel. Form a bond with each of a certain group of people, but you have to do like a dozen playthroughs to get them all.

The fear for missable trophy is real

The trophies I dread most are online trophies for old games, and trophies that make me replay a long game more than once for the platinum.

Online trophies are the worst. Try completing the heists on GTA with strangers...impossible.. I can't platinum TemTem because I don't know anyone that plays it to be able to do a lair with a 3 player party...

Yakuza Kiwami took me like 9 hours on Legendary and about 4 of those was chapter 9(hardest part of that Plat imo) the trick is to skip every cutscene you've already seen.

I dread online trophies ones that make you kill like 50k in a single match

Any online / multiplayer trophies irritate me. If they were split off as a group of DLC trophies it wouldn't bother me but when they tie it to the platinum it puts the trophy on a time limit. Besides not every player wants to play multiplayer, the publishers are just trying to force that on everyone.

I’ve been trying to earn the Demon’s Souls platinum, and… it’s like almost all of these rolled into a single game.

I don't go for many platinums but when i do, online and multiplaythrpugh trophies at least make me hesitate even if its a game i adore

As soon as any multiplayer-element is required, I'm out. I'd like to sink 500 hours into a game in a war of attrition, thank you very much, not do things frantically under unforeseen conditions where other people are involved. By the same token, trophies where only good reflexes and mastery of all of the game's mechanics will suffice: do all of Batman's moves in one unbroken combo in Arkham City? Suuuuure.

Online Trophies, but more specifically, Multi-kill trophies.

Pretty sure the missable trophies are mine. Either you risk game spoilers trying to make sure you get everything or you get 45 hours in and realize at hour 15 you missed an NPC or weapon needed to trigger a side quest that you have to have to complete the plat.

Multiple ending trophies? Bah, I assume a game has multiple endings until I'm proven wrong.
The real one is trophies that are easily missed during the game by making one choice.

Two examples of this:
Call of Cthulhu - "The Shadow Out of Time" - there is only one mural that you can miss and not realize it. If you don't up your strength with your starting stats you won't be able to open the underground passage to get to the Hawkin's Warehouse. You'll have to try a different method at that point. No problem except there is a single mural in that underground passage. You can't get it anywhere else and have to replay the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 - "Breathtaking" - most of the items for this one are items you discover and loot. Miss one (like Johnny's shoes when you liberate Kerry's Guitar from the super fan's apartment) and you're out of luck.

multiplayer and online trophies are my most hated. Im a loner when it comes to gaming and don't want to have to rely on others to get the platinum.

Mine are the hidden ones that require you to do something so random you would never do it it without a guide

Glitched trophies

I can relate, RNG trophies are the worst! Spending hours just to finally get some item, that only occurs based on luck... sigh

But what about collectables, I would rather have online trophies than need to pick up 200 collectables in every game I play

Absolutely agree with all the points! I'm not even a trophy hunter but for the ones that I do have and seen some from the internet, it's ridiculous. Just play and enjoy your games.

Collectables that are missable requiring a whole replay just to pick them up.

Rob hates speedrun trophies because they keep him from using Photo Mode, right?

Funny enough about the unlock able difficulty, I just finished Kena: Bridge Of Spirits on hard difficulty and it unlocked master difficulty which is the last trophy I need to platinum. I immediately noped out of it. It was already hard as balls on hard. Imagine how hard it will be on Master difficulty especially given that you gave to build your character back up from scratch.

Online trophies simplely because I'm not good enough and don't care otherwise

I think glitched trophies is one of my biggest dreads in gaming. You know you've done the required things to earn the trophy but it just doesn't pop! Grrrr

The only thing I would add is any sort of collectibles like feathers for instance or finding secret rooms that are required to find for a trophy. Also too when it says hidden trophy and you have no idea what you actually have to do to get it, maybe you have to punch someone 500 times I don't know

The luck related trophies is so relatable. Been trying to get the last trophy for beating a dice player a specific way in Witcher 2 for years…

How have we made it through an entry on online multiplayer trophies without mentioning competitive multiplayer?

I'm old and my wits aren't as quick as they used to be (and yes, Robert S Pearson is my spirit animal, what of it?) - the moment I look at a trophy list and it says 'achieve A+ online rank' or something, my heart sinks.

Online (I’m looking at you Red Dead Redemption 2) and luck (Gambler 8 challenge in, oh look - Red Dead Redemption 2) are the worst!

Highest difficulty trophies + difficulty level where the game is permadeath = pain

When I played RE2 remake I saved 38 times. I rather take my time than being rushed. So I saved a lot more to remove a lot of back tracking.

Online trophies are just pointless, particularly when the servers shut down, they should just have a medal or a ranking system and leave the trophies to the single player portion of the game.
