Just over 24 hours before writing this, "Wires" came to mind as I ran down corridors, through automatic doors at the hospital, to be with my wife, who was nearing the end of her journey. Whilst the essence of this song is about new life rather than what we all face at the end, it's observation of wires going in and wires coming out, and of being on your own is the same. We just hope that time is a way away in the future. For some, like my wife, it was way too soon. I got to you in time to be with you my darling Ali. 1969-2023

My brother went through a premature birth with hes daughter and hearing him explain it just like this is sad asf and how many parents have to touch thier little one through a plastic box and only ceetain visiting times cant even begin to imagine hes pain or the lead singers😢😥😢🥺 but shes fine now full of life and giggles and little teeth love you daisy and joshie ❤

Love you @AthleteBand my step grand daughter was a premmie because her Mum had brain cancer and refused chemo. The surgical team had gone in but couldn't get all the cancer out. The medical team got mum and bub to 8 months then induced birth. All went well with some help from the little plastic box of hope at times. Mum and bub are both flourishing today. Bubs name is Kora, which means Lion. Thank you Athlete, I played this a lot at the time and still treasure this beautiful song. ❤❤❤

One powerhouse of a song.
Certain songs get produced out of necessity and this surely is as valid as Clapton’s Tears in Heaven and some other ‘lump in your throat’ songs of similar subject matter.
Cannot listen to this without tears. My son is healthy as can be, but I somehow visualise worse case scenarios when I hear this.
