I work at a boarding facility connected to my town's vet clinic. Even we don't use "quiet" when talking about how the day is going, because invariably a bunch of kennel baths will come in or some of the most annoying dogs will show up to board. We also don't say certain animals' names, because saying them will make them show up. I said one dog's name a week or so ago, just mentioning that we hadn't seen him in a while. I think it's my fault he showed up to board with us for over a week. He's still not the worst dog to board with us, but he's not anyone's favorite either.

I think the phineas and ferb creators tried to do this once
