CRY OF FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
ОтветитьThrowing shade at crack life I see lmao
ОтветитьI want a new game with the GoldSrc engine. I love the low poly textures. It gives me a nostalgic, yet satisfying feeling I love it.
Ответитьthe "warm" feeling for the goldsrc engine explains the recent half life sound effect memes being popular
ОтветитьThose who say "source is better than source gold" deserves death
ОтветитьGoldSrc will never die
ОтветитьCool video 😉
ОтветитьSO MANY REFERENCES
ОтветитьHave you played entropy zero yet?
ОтветитьWanted is wery good mod
ОтветитьSeeing the bright blue sky and the orange deserts of GoldSrc will always give me a sense of warm and nostalgia and makes me think of the summers of early-mid 2000s
ОтветитьNot to mention that mod that recreates Ravenholm from hl2 with ACTUAL HL2-LIKE FUCKING PHYSICS
ОтветитьWhat chauklet bah is called goldsrc?
ОтветитьSomeday i don’t know why but I want to make games or mods with goldsrc
Ответитьachieved with sorse
ОтветитьI dont like goldsource, i like source 2
I also like source 1 for portal reasons
Hey I gotta question can I make an action adventure game? On the goldsrc engine as well can I make the camera like dmc?
ОтветитьGoldsrc kinda sucks, Now that i see source and source 2
ОтветитьI think paranoia is pretty cool mod
ОтветитьLook at me, i love source more than goldsrc, but goldsrc is that thing i love too.
ОтветитьAm I bad for getting bored of Cry of Fear half way through and haven't finished it to this day?
ОтветитьI think Goldsource is better than id tech 3,just imagine if Return to Castle Wolfenstein use Goldsource, that would be legit!
Ответитьi need to play half life
ОтветитьSomebody made a hl alpha mod where you play as spyro on modb
ОтветитьGoldsource aged so poorly
ОтветитьPls tell me the song name at the beginning
Ответитьthe fact that the engine can handle models with MASSIVE polygon counts (such as the first person models for half life kanna mod which my pc cant handle) is incredible for an engine from 1998
Ответить"for what I've seen and heard you can pretty much pull any kind of genre off in a convincing way, even comedy if you would call this game comedy. There's just a lot of customization elements that are relatively easy to access"

ОтветитьHonestly i would argue that cry of fear is a standalone game, not a mod
ОтветитьYes now talk gold source 1.5
ОтветитьI wish someone would port Goldeneye 007 to GoodSrc
Ответитьwhat you said about goldsrc being way more open to modding than source is 100% true.
Now, I'm no modder. I don't even know how to write code. But I do know enough about programming to tweak a few things in a game file without breaking it (usually), or to learn my way around code interfacing tools. So while I don't have the skills to make a full mod from scratch, I could absolutely change the experience of a game up a little.
So let's say I want to take a weapon from Counter Strike and put it into Half Life. Theoretically this is possible, since they both run on the same engine. Basically what I'd need to do is find the relevant weapon's code in CS and copy it over to HL, and maybe recompile it as a separate mod or something. Not too hard to do once I find the relevant folders and files to take from/edit, just time consuming. The issue is finding the right files and folders, and brushing over any edited code to make sure no conflicts or errors occur. A little searching later, and sure enough one or more relevant (or relevant-ish) results for goldsrc pop up.
Now let's say I want to move the same weapon from Counter Strike: Source to Half Life: Source. The games are the same as before, the weapon is the same as before, and they still run on the same engine as each other. Theoretically speaking, the process should be very similar.
.....But then that little issue comes in.
There are very little resources for how weapons work in source or where their code is. Sure, I could probably figure it out on my own *eventually*, but this little idea that would take maybe a few weeks in goldsrc would instead take months to do in source. It just isn't worth the time and effort investment.
Yes, an experienced source/goldsrc developer would have a much easier time doing something like this. They make entire custom weapon sets with their own ammo and functionality, and I have a hard time reading more complex code. But that's not the point. The point is that goldsrc is just that much easier to learn and understand. Whether you're developing a mod, installing one, or just messing around with values in the files, goldsrc simply feels better most of the time.
Goldsrc is basically pre-baked low-res raytracing with rgb lightning. Which is impressive for its time
ОтветитьIs it still proprietary?
ОтветитьGoldsrc always feels a bit crunchy I don’t know why
ОтветитьGood video
ОтветитьIt's been proven time and time again that Goldscr can do high poly models that look like they came out of Source or the Unreal Engine. Why do people still think Goldscr is all just low poly?
Ответитьmods: natural selection 1, the specialists, they live (has since been integrated into sven coop), dragonmodZ, earths special forces (another dbz mod)
ОтветитьQuake but the animations are better and the lights are prettier, ID is the only reason Half Life had this engine
Ответитьhow do I download
ОтветитьYes, you are right @leanify TV, and now even valve officially said that original Half-Life is THE definitive edition of Half-Life, and they will be hiding Half-Life Source from steam!!!
ОтветитьWhen it comes to making a game it's imporant to check off every box of game desing but for example Cry of Fear is amazing yet still uses outdates gold source graphics, lighting etc.
You might have 4k graphics, crips lighting, ray tracing and all the fireworks money could buy but if you don't have a good story comlimented by the enviroment of the maps, you won't make a good game. Games like Cry of Fear use everything to compose a great story and put love into map desing instead of creating pc exploding shabangs
