I only bought this game last night and I've never played an online game before (except wow which is so different from this) So I don't even know how to pick up things 😂

My playing style is laid back so I spend as much time as possible after battles looking for loot, ingredients for potions, nearby animals etc and then if there any puzzles nearby I do them as well because it is well known that the combat areas do respawn so unless you want to fight the baddies a second time, my suggestion is to sweep the are while it is free of them so you don't have to come back to that area.

I am absolutely an explorer and have to check every little thing. Having played a lot of classic final fantasy, I have two ingrained rules: There's always a chest/secret I haven't found yet; and, you can never hoard enough materials. I recently finished FFXVI and really enjoyed it, but frankly, Hogwart's Legacy feels like the Final Fantasy RPG I really wanted, with all the crafting, secrets, collectables, side content, and still has that action combat I started to really like. Glad I picked it up! (Only about 4 hours in and I haven't even finished up my first visit to Hogsmeade)

I'm visually impaired so running around the open world, going to lessons, gathering items and completing quests all sounded fun but, now that you've shown me the combat.....it's not for me. Slow-ish, no pressure games are my speed now I've lost my sight and this isn't it 😣

I can only assume the UI either doesn't, or doesn't easily, size up either (like so many games). If The Sims 4 and Planet Zoo can do it then everyone should! 🤦🏻‍♀️😠

Okay so idk if I'm dumb or, what? I am on xbox one x and the doors will not open. Like, regular doors. Do I have to push a button on my gamepad, or is this just a bug? I can't figure it out and it is frustrating.

I’m definitely the “explore every nook and cranny of the world/map” kind of player, mainly because I end up finding lots of cool gear and Easter eggs that way.

I got the game because ofthe open world so i figured exploring is a must, plus i love the books.

The only thing missable in this game are 3 spells which are Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio. So if you want to get absolutely everything in the game look out for these.

When I play games the first play through I rush through it. If I really liked the game then I do a second play through exploring a lot more. If I don’t like it then I don’t play it again.

Never ever rush the game doing that doesn't even make sense to me

I always do all the side stuff first before playing the main game on every games like this

Just started on xbox one, been following the main quest while checking every corner with revelio along the way, great way to get money and gear at the start

I explored and looted a lot in the beginning after doing the main quests up through learning the disillusionment charm. Anytime I did a quest, I would go to Hogsmeade to sell gear, so I could have open space for more. I did Merlin trials until I got to 32 on my gear slots.

To answer your obvious attempt to get comments.. any game you can call good. Will be structured so as you progress you main story the side quests are structured thematically and physically too be done in the areas the main quest has you traval thru it.

Really good games will have completely linear paths weaving multiple narrives that dont seem to be in an actual line but if you play it in that line, you can nearly get everything and it still not seem like you were just walking down a hallway.

If the game forces you too return too an area solely for one collectible, odds are its lacking substance, and that was quite litterally done that way to force more game play time.

In a good game if you can't get everything the first time thru its more then likely that you'll be returning to that area for the main quest and pmor there are muliple reasons to return end game side quests, post story content things like that.

So for them great games I Chug right long doing both main and side quests. But for everything else its a nook and cranny adventure for me. Like I said though, its not always the rule.

Fallen Jedi was an incredible game. But it was notorious for making you go all the way back somewhere you have no reason to go back too other then to get that one collectible. So please don't think I was completely generalizing, I was just offering examples of how and why I do both actions in your question.

That's not what I want I want to know what do you do when you first start the game from one

I’ve never played a video game before and I’m so excited! Preordered Hogwarts Legacy for Xbox One and it finally comes out tonight at midnight - in 13 mins! I have no idea what to expect or how to play but really excited to figure it out and explore the world. Thank you for this helpful tutorial!

I will probably start my playthrough with the story, doing side quests that are near mainquests. Finish the storyline, then finish the rest of the sidequests+find all collectibles. Also team Hufflepuff ftw!

I like to rush the story, then go back around and do everything after that :P

id love to look in every crook and canny but if the game bores me i dont bother,but i dont think its gonna be the case with hogwarts legacy.

My thing is that I have a legendary robe but my well appointed (green rarity) is wayyyy better that the legendary In terms of stats, and my inventory is full too, I’m early game as well. So do I sell the legendary item and just focus on the better stats despite the worse rarity.

One Playthrough... 100% that's my goal... After that get back to game for photos

When I first played, I simply left the castle to look for the balloons for Professor Kagawa because I thought the Quidditch Captain set you got from it looked cool. That was until I stumbled across my first bandit camp where I got satisfaction of playing around and coming up with spell combos then looked over at the next map icon and said "Hey, what's that over there?". I was completely lost in the valley almost as if I was living in the wilderness clearing out bandit camps, goblin outposts, messed around with the Merlin trails, landing pads, etc. So returning to the castle for Assignments felt weird as if I was back with society I guess lol.

Been gaming since the NES era and can't help but check every single nook and cranny. Been doing that long before achievements

I'm a mix of linear vs shiny hunter. I try to stick to the main story, however any time I see something shiny -- I get wicked distracted.

On the one hand, fuck J.K. Rowling. Trans rights are human rights. On the other hand, she's already been paid for the rights, if I buy the game, she's not getting any of my money 🤷‍♂️

@ArekkzGaming &anyone else who may b able to help So I have a question, you know how in-game you can speak to the professors any time after you take their class to learn more about them, well I spoke to pretty much everyone except the beast class' Professor Howin. She does not appear again back at the classroom n I tried searching but could not find her anywhere, does anyone know where I could find her Ik it's not important to the game but it's something I'd just like to do any help would b great

If you sell or destroy gear you have collected can you still wear it in the appearance section or is that look gone forever?

Took me 3 days to get comfortable with the map and controls, that’s a long time but worth it, this game is awesome
