Writer's tears is a lovely whiskey

ОтветитьLove Writer's Tears!
ОтветитьIrish coffee with jameson is great
ОтветитьGlen, on Ragusa’s channel he recently did a segment on the shape of glasses, in particular, glasses for beer. But, it was touched upon regarding the shape of glasses, like wine glasses that have a tulip shape that directs fluids towards your mouth while enhancing the experience through the scent also being funneled towards your nose. I was wondering what your take on that might be? Could you do a segment on it?
ОтветитьHad to laugh at Julie's face at the first sip. I could see the shiver run down her spine. Love you two.
ОтветитьYou might try Teelings. A little more body than Jameson or Bushmills.
Ответитьgo for Redbreast 12 cask strength.. no acid, extra orange... pass on the olives and substitute a cherry... ok
ОтветитьJamison, my favourite
ОтветитьThe Jamison Black Barrel for a few more bucks is a good upgrade over standard Jamison.
ОтветитьI really like it when one or both of them have a really negative response to the days recipe. It makes it seem more real. Especially when it's something they haven't tried before.
ОтветитьNeed to be storing food not DRINKING...save alcohol for making ur own medicines!!!
ОтветитьMy husband would say if you want to taste more of the whiskey, stop putting other stuff in it.
ОтветитьMy grannies recipe for the Scottish version was very similar; 1 part whisky, 3 more parts whisky, top up with whisky and serve with a smoke of your choice. Honestly though, I am a whisky drinker and was cringing when you were tasting it. It's not really best to let it hang around on the front of your tongue for long - that was the sweet stuff you were using as well.
ОтветитьWhen I still drank, Jameson was my favorite and I only wanted it cold not over ice.
ОтветитьCheers!
ОтветитьWriters' Tears; what a great name for whiskey/whisky. Thank you for the video.
ОтветитьJameson whiskey is not a good whiskey. Like drinking whiskey laced with kerosene
ОтветитьI am totally biased and i do prefer the Jameson version.
ОтветитьThis cocktail has too many tastes competing all at once. Sweet Vermouth, briney/salty olive. bitters, sour lemon twist, and sour phosphate with Irish Whisky. Maybe if it were done as a batch cocktail and rested in a bottle for a month or more may help? Even out some of those attributes.
ОтветитьGlen and Friends the greatest channel on here!
ОтветитьGotta get some Green Spot!
ОтветитьNot a fan of Writer's Tears, have been on Proper Twelve for quite some time.
ОтветитьMy favorite Irish is Redbreast. Definitely worth a try if you haven't yet!
ОтветитьI love Jameson. glad you tried. Jameson and Lots of other Whiskeys are not meant to be in a cocktail. How about a "Straight Shot Series with different Chasers" ? Try Jameson 18y with a shot of OJ as a chaser...... Luv this Channel....
ОтветитьJulie expressed a preference for gin in other videos. I am not a gin drinker, but I found myself wondering, what if one of the glasses had used gin in place of whiskey. 🤔
ОтветитьPowers is a decent Irish whiskey and its pretty easy on the bank account. When it comes to Jameson if the regular white label isn't doing it for you, try the Black Barrel.
ОтветитьIrish Whiskey is best with ice cubes and Meyer Lemon Bitters, and nothing else. I make my own Meyer Lemon Bitters, BTW.
ОтветитьIrish whiskey will work in any whiskey cocktail, like an old fashioned or a Manhattan. It will be a bit milder as Irish whiskey is generally more mild than bourbon or scotch, unless you use Red Breast or Green Spot which have a much more distinctive flavor.
ОтветитьSo interesting to see how some concoctions may be not one's choice at all.
ОтветитьMy current favourite Irish is Sexton. It's very nice.
ОтветитьIt's been a tough week for Julie!
ОтветитьIts so popular/widely available, but I just find Jameson so uninteresting.
ОтветитьNot that I’m a professional but I feel like Irish whisky almost shouldn’t be used in cocktails/mixed drinks. It’s meant to be sipped and appreciated for what it is
ОтветитьYou could see Julie steeling herself to taste the second drink.
ОтветитьIf you want to try a fabulous Irish whiskey a little pricey for cocktails and if you don't like this one you might as well give up on Irish whiskey
ОтветитьNow I'll have to go find some of their other videos where acid phosphate makes an appearance. I don't recall poor Julie being that bothered by it before.
ОтветитьWriter's Tears is really tasty neat, or with just a bit of ice. I had the same skepticism initially about it being a blend rather than a single malt (especially for the price), but whoever is doing the mixing of barrels is damn fine at his job. I also quite like Tullamore Dew.
ОтветитьHave you ever heard of AiR Distillerie. They just announced an expansion into my hometown in Pennsylvania that should be coming in 2025.
ОтветитьIt looks like the Jameson version sat in the ice a little longer than the other. Maybe that made a difference?
ОтветитьAcid phosphate, as found in Coca-Cola I think. Murder on the human tooth, but distinctive.
ОтветитьFyi Jameson is pronounced Gemison as in diamond gems
ОтветитьFor a side interest in Madrid there is a long standing tradition of bars making their own vermouth in their cellars. People go on pub crawls to taste the different ones. Being sweet I can only do about three of an evening. Others do more.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьNothing can go wrong with Tullamore dew a great Irish whiskey works in most drinks
