i dont really want to say this but your title is a click bait. You gave the viewers your personally opinion about Dr. Gundry oil. you presented no facts relating to his oil. by facts I mean you quoted No RESEARCH or even nutritional reviews on the subject so viewers can verify what you are saying. Dr. Gundry states that his olive oil contained high levels of hydroytyrosol, as a matter of fact most of his video talks about hydrotyrosol, yet you failed to recall that vital piece of information. he also mentioned how the olive oil he produces is manufactured, shipped, and from whom, he also mentioned the olives are cold pressed. Information you ignored to present. You did provide some general information relating to olive oil perhaps a few viewers was not aware of while giving a shout out to a preferred olive oil brand and sharing their link. In my opinion you didnt present any information about Dr. Grundry olive oil to FACT CHECK the product.
ОтветитьI have never bought any Dr Gundry products because I don't believe most of his other health claims either. Great video by the way. I am learning more every day about olive oils.
ОтветитьI visited Athens and joined a food tour one of the days I was there in 2022. The last stop was for olive oil tasting. I liked one so much that is harvested from Crete, and was labeled as "medicinal" in the EU due to the high polyphenol content that I returned and bought 5 bottles to take back home. And no, it was not labeled Gundry.
ОтветитьThe brand that you link to, is it organic olives? Thank you so very much, I am very much enjoying your channel! Learning so much!
ОтветитьWell I went and watch Dr Gungry's data on olive oil and he went out of his way to educate about police oil. Did you watch all his clips?
ОтветитьEverything Gundry preaches is fraudulent!
ОтветитьI have listened to Dr Gundrys videos. I agree with this dietitian about several things she said! 30x what is a great point! And the soil is dead where he harvests the olives makes the plant work harder which causes the increase in polyphenols? He does say that the olives have to be cold pressed right by the crop so it’s immediately bottled. I never heard of an “outdate” which is interesting. I’ve spent 1/2 hour examining the olive oils at the store and most all of them state the olives are from 4-5 countries. Thank you for your “rant!” I appreciate it!
ОтветитьThank you so much, Carol. What knowledge you are sharing with us! I do appreciate that so much. I’ve been reading labels and dates of pressing since. Even the Bible speaks of olive oil and it’s value. ♥️
ОтветитьThank you Carol. Good to know that highly qualified people such as yourself are watching what’s going on with the Olive Oil supply. It’s troubling to hear of fraudulent practices going on. Thanks
For passing on your knowledge
Sorry Kyoord.
ОтветитьHi paisana. I get my olive oil from Olive Oil Lovers and swear by them. Gundry's product? It sounds and reads like a scam. Don't give me that "thirty times more polyphenols" crap. Just tell me how rich in polyphenols the oil. The polyphenols in the proven oils I buy from Olive Oil Lovers are measuring anywhere from 300 to as much as 900, depending on the specific oil. And when you get up in numbers such as are contained in these quality oils -- why, I'm sure they are at least a thousand times higher in polyphenols than any of those so-called olive oils available in most supermarkets. Ciao.
ОтветитьDr. Gundry is full of crap!
ОтветитьI'm so lost with all of these olive oils now. So, should we only purchase olive oil during the month of October to ensure we are all getting the best product possible and when we run out, how do we know we are getting fresh oil during the rest of the year if it's only harvest in October?
ОтветитьI live in Southern Italy and personally appreciate the EVOO from the region of Puglia. It has a nice spicy “picante” flavor and aftertaste, and it doesn’t cost that much. Check out flavor descriptions like intense/robust/full flavor. She seems knowledgeable, and harvests here do happen starting in October. Taste and quality does depend on the year and weather conditions just like wine. There’s also a parasite or insect that is destroying olive trees, especially in the Cilento region in Southern Italy heading north. Not good! It’s always nice to visit the olive farm if possible, and a nice outing. But, here is a common local brand to tryout from this region found in our local Italian supermarkets and just may be found in the USA: Desantis. I’ll try to update this later as I find more. I usually shop the sales in October for great prices and this is a most recent purchase for less than 8 euros a liter.
ОтветитьDr. Gundry's EVOO is rebranded Olivie oil only 2x more expensive. Olivie is a subsidiary of Atlas in Morocco. Took me a while to figure it out. I too was interested in Gundry's claims. They are straight from Olivie. Looked like Olivie may use a French lab to test their EVOO. (1200-1250 count) Seems to be more of a medicinal marketing angle. It I taste test it properly, i get a grassy and almond favor along with the peppery burn in throat. I notice I always have to do a deep dive to find info I'm after. Atlas has over 1.5 million olive trees in production and several varieties across three farms. They claim to process their EVOO with in 20 minutes of harvesting. They claim the more environmentally stressed their trees are and the earlier they are picked the higher the phenol count My 2 cents...I like both Atlas and Olivie. I typically take 2 tablespoons daily of Olivie and use Atlas for all my cooking eating uses. Atlas is about $25/liter and Olivie is $28/250 ml. I agree with other commentors that these companies should post lab certification for each harvest. I purchase mine through Amazon. My Olivie bottle was processed in 3/23 and good till 25. Store properly and the phenol count should hold up for a year, but I'm through my bottles in a month. Good hunting!
ОтветитьI don’t trust you!
ОтветитьCan you lab test the gundry oil to confirm it’s as he says it is?
ОтветитьI agree that there is a snake oil salesman type quality to Dr. Gundry that I find rather annoying. And I have tried 3 of his supplements, which 1 out of the 3 I would order again. So I did try his olive oil, and the first time I opened the bottle and drank half a shot of it, I have to say is the best olive oil I ever tasted. It was the first time olive oil actually tasted like literally 'olives'. But the next day it didn't have that same distinct taste of olives. But it's still olive oil and will finish it off, but as far as the health claims of it, who knows, I guess we're just supposed to trust him, the world renowned heart surgeon (gone bad😅). ....
I think it would be interesting if you would 'try' his olive oil (for scientific purposes, of course). Yes, a taste test comparison along side your favorite.👍.. And yes, even have it sent to a lab with your favorite and have their polyphenols analysed, especially that hydroxywhatever one that Gundry likes to hang his hat on.
$197 a bottle? Will stick to 30$ bottle. Taste good, great reviews.
ОтветитьSame applies with Dr Berg. Theres no way to compare it to anything else. No proof of any claims.
ОтветитьNutrients from the water
ОтветитьI am glad you are addressing this. That other one, I think is a huckster.
ОтветитьPls give me the link of the EVOO you recommend instead of Dr. Gundrys rip off Olive oil?
ОтветитьWheres the link of the olive oil you are recommending on this video?
ОтветитьAs for you do you have evidence of what you are talking? Show evidence not only talking.
ОтветитьGreat video Carol. Thanks! A 500ml bottle of good olive oil can cost up to and over $30. And you still can't trust where and how the oil was processed? I get my extra virgin olive oil at a discount food store. The dates are all out. But the taste and quality of the oil is great for 2/3Rds less the cost than if bought in a commercial food grocery. Stay away from chain supermarkets when buying fish and EV olive oil. Like all giant corporations, they all lie or greatly exaggerate the truth.
Also, I try not to eat anything grown on government subsidized farms, tweaked by government ordained food producers in government granted food chemical labs.
Ok.ok when you can not be 100% perfect ,then near choices are ,simple natural grow like moroco where cold press is only choice is a best for all need of polothinios..period
ОтветитьHello Carol, I sincerely appreciate your information about everything in this report. You may be just the person that I have been looking to follow on the EVOO topic. Thank you. Woody
ОтветитьExcellent info, thanks! The Olive Oil Times was also not impressed with Gundry's claims. You can visit their website and do a search for Gundry and read an eye-opening article with data and complaints. Gundry also makes similar claims for his sesame oil. Those claims could not be substantiated and were refuted by some studies. the company declined to answer my inquiries on those claims.
ОтветитьI was just in Athens and went to an olive oil shop. They stock olive oils from local estate growers. She is right, all of their oils had third party analysis. I might three oils all over 1000mg polyphenols. One up to 1800. And it tastes amazing.
ОтветитьThank You Carol for the information. I enjoy Dr Gundry's books and videos when he is discussing science research. BUT - I ignore his claims when he is promoting his PRODUCT SALES. Also, IMO he has a tendency to speak in absolutes & BIG GENERALITIES about research which I think sometimes EXAGGERATE the actual findings in research papers. Thanks Again 😊 👍 -70SomethingGuy
ОтветитьUnfortunately I did get some of the stuff that Dr.G sells and find it so bitter that I can’t drink it.
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьCarol, I tried an olive oil from Italy that was supposed to have extremely high poly, first bottle tasted so good! I ordered a case and it tasted rancid. How does your oilive oil taste, and I am aware of the bite at the end of really good olive oil. I would appreciate any comments.
