Thanks to this video I was able to save almost $4 k booking my flight from paris to denver using only 40k points from my ventureX cc
ОтветитьThe 30+ hr travel time to the Philippines on Turkish Airlines is brutal though.
ОтветитьI am boycotting Capital One since 2008.
ОтветитьI want to say thank you for all the information you are giving. I am pretty new to the credit card game. I have an aadvantage card that I’ve been using for miles. I’ve been seeing the red aviator I think it’s called. Would that card be worth getting. Is there a travel partner for capital one that would have AA? I’m thinking of getting the venture x. Thank you for the help.
ОтветитьThe one HUGE prob with the transferring is that almost never is it cheaper to buy a flight directly through the airline. By simply fishing through various search engines I can find a much cheaper option.
ОтветитьVideo is very informative and useful. Keep up the great videos 🛩
ОтветитьIs it round trip?
ОтветитьSorry false advertising. Capital one does NOT pull the cheapest flight. Capital one does NOT deal with most reliable airlines such as southwest.
ОтветитьWhat about domestic flights? Is it even worth transferring?
Ответитьhi iam wondering if they giving an option for e-giftcard or digital gift card instead of physical. i want use my miles for gift card for my grandma birthday but scared it will arrive longer than i expect.
ОтветитьAre transferring Capital One miles to airlines miles good idea if one is solely intereated in the most basic economy tickets/seats?
ОтветитьWhat is the USA Credit card that Tourist can get?
ОтветитьI know you talk about transferring cashback from the Savor One card to Venture X miles, but can it go the other way? What is the exchange rate? That could help to get the 1 cent-per-point for cash if miles transfer 1:1 to cashback on a non-travel card.
ОтветитьDoes this work for Venture One as well?
ОтветитьIncredible video, thanks for the insight. Two questions if you know. I just opened a venture one rewards card with a welcome bonus of 20k points after spending $500 within the first 3 months. Do I get those points automatically once I spend $500 in the first 3 months? Or do I wait until 3 months no matter what? Additionally can I ease some of the cost transferring points to an airline even though I don’t have the full points required? Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat info and great smile
ОтветитьGreat breakdown. Clearly more advantageous for International travel. since I don't do that much anymore, I do #3 on your list all the time.
ОтветитьHi John , how do I compare flights in partner airlines in regards to miles , when I try to look up flights to see if it’s worth transferring miles I could not see cash conversions to miles . Where and how can I compare?
Ответитьmore confused than ever, lol
ОтветитьPlease more videos for flights going to the Philippines 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
ОтветитьHow about US to Australia? Or Bali to Newark? I currently spent 190k and 40k on bus and econ United miles. Trying to shop cap one.
ОтветитьIs there anyway to transfer those points to domestic (USA) airliner? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьSo, if I transfer my C1 points to Singapore Airlines, it’s $1:1pt?
ОтветитьHi! I'm new at transferring points using my CO Venture X miles. I have an upcoming trip from the USA to BKK flying Qatar Airways. I bought an economy basic seat. So let's see if I get this correctly, I can transfer my CO miles to a partner airline, Cathy Pacific, then transfer those points 1:1 to Qatar Avios, then redeem Avios for my upgrade from economy seat to business? Am I on the right track? Help! Thank you.
ОтветитьI used to be able to send my cash to my Venture card & I noticed that option is no longer available
ОтветитьThis was very helpful thanks. Is there a resource that sends alerts to tell us about the point bonuses you mentioned for travel partners ?
ОтветитьCan you make a video discussing VentureX versus the new business version?
ОтветитьCan I convert cash back from my Savor to miles under my spouse’s Venture X? We are account managers on each other’s cards.
ОтветитьWhat part of Philippines did you go??
ОтветитьThis was a phenomenally helpful video, thank you so much John!
ОтветитьHmm for the Savor One the gift cards are 1.0 cpp. They also have a set of 12 different gift cards on "sale" going for 1.1 cpp.
ОтветитьI'm planning to see friends and family in Malaysia and Singapore next year and this really helped
Thank you for what you do, keep up the good work
Did i understand this correctly, points must be transferred BEFORE you can see the flights? What if what shows up doesn't work?
ОтветитьDo citi, there’s isn’t much out there
ОтветитьHi, how did you how much to transfer to Turkish airline for your flight to Asia? Curious on the steps you would taken to figure out the number of points to transfer. Thanks.
ОтветитьWould you recommend the venture rewards, or the savor/savor one rewards from capital one?
ОтветитьTo transfer miles to a partner airline, you need an account with that partner. Do partner airlines charge their own annual membership fee?
ОтветитьJohn, you’re killing it! I learned so much from you in this video. Is there any way to transfer Capital One ‘miles’ 😜 to get into the Marriott Bonvoy program? I’m dying to stay at the Westin in Perth, Australia, this holiday season, and have a ton of Capital One miles.
ОтветитьAnother video just like the other 100 on how to use miles for Europe and Asia 😂 at least change it up and use Mexico or a different country than the same as every other guide video
ОтветитьTapped out
ОтветитьAmazing video , Pls do the same thing for AMEX and chase .
ОтветитьCan anyone confirm this, I believe the authorized users can transfer his/her own main account points to the primary account holders as long as they also have any of their own venture cards??? There is no need to call customer service for that. For example, If I added my sister as an AU to my account, but she also has her own Venture X card then she could transfer all her points to my account via transferring from her main card ----> authorized user card.
ОтветитьPerfect timing John! Capital One travel partners next video!!!
ОтветитьNever choose credit on card over getting a check or deposit, you lose 1-5%
ОтветитьI wouldn't spend two cents on Beyonce tickets, and if given them, I'd sell them to someone who think she's worth seeing for a 300% mark up 😂😂. Great great video, tho. I really learned a lot
ОтветитьThanks for all the videos you made. I've learned a lot from them. Quick question: how did you decide which Airline partner to transfer to. I tend to look for Asian airlines to fly to Asia but in this case you chose British Airways.
ОтветитьI have an issue on how you're calculating the value. The formula to calculate the CCP is correct. CASH/MILES = CCP; however, I think you need to take into account how much you spent to get to those miles or points.
At the base earning, for the Chase Sapphire Reserve, to earn 10,000 UR Points, you would have to spent $10,000 dollars. But to earn the 10,000 miles on Capital one with the Venture X, you would only need to spend $5,000 dollars. So even though when you redeem 10,000 UR Points or 10,000 miles you're getting 1 CPP .... the amount of money needed to reach the 10,000 miles/points is half with Capital One. (and yes, I'm aware you get 1.5X boost when redeeming through Chase's portal, but my point still stands).
This is something people usually look over and I have seen people incorrectly point out that Capital One values their Cash Redeem option at 0.5 CPP when it's not true. It's actually 1 CCP when you consider you're earning 2X miles.
I have had capital one platinum for years and I am just sick of it to be honest I hate it. I stopped using it because they would never increase my limit. Years latter I am still at 500 dollars. I always make sure I pay my bill before even the due date and I can’t use the freaking card like debit card all I can spend on the card is maximum of 10% which is 10 dollars a month like what’s the point of the card?🤦🏼♀️
ОтветитьHi John, I love your videos. Great job with presenting information straight forward and in an entertaining manner. I have noticed that you often refer to American Airlines as one of the best Loyalty rewards programs, and you have mentioned Bonvoy one of the best hotel rewards cards, and you have mentioned Hyatt as one of the best hotel rewards programs. Now, it seems all three of those are related. I wonder, is American Airline one of your sponsors?
Anyway, based upon your recommendation of American Airlines, I checked out the AAdvantage program and AAdvantage Credit cards. It turns out I am already an AAdvantage program member. I have been flying Delta and using their Skymiles card more recently.
What I found out about AAdvantage cards, as you know Citi is a bank which issues AAdvantage credit cards; and so is Barclays Bank. If AAdvantage is a great program, wouldn't it behoove someone to open an AAdvantage card with each issuer? Citi offers AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard® at $95/yr with SUB of 50k loyalty miles, after $2500 spend. And, Barclays Bank offers AAdvantage® Aviator® Red World Elite Mastercard® at $99/yr with SUB of 50K loyalty miles, after first purchase (no minimum spend). So, couldn't a person open one of each card, and acquire 100,000 miles at the cost of $194 plus $2500+ minimum spend?
The unfortunate part of both of these programs is their annual flight credit or companion fare is only available if a person spends $20,000 on their card over the previous year. Delta Skymiles American Express Platinum and Preferred cards (at a higher yearly renewal fee) just grant the companion certificate without a minimum spend. However, Skymiles has a $20,000 or $25,000 yearly spend to acquire the MQD Waiver.
You know, this is a whole lot of information. All the more impressive that you keep it straight.
I have the quicksilver card, should I product change it to the savor one?
