What if i need to connect a 3/4" air conditioning drain pipe that has cracked off a few inches at the end.The pipe measures around 3.5". Should i use a clamp? I'm having trouble finding a pipe with the same thickness, etc. I wish I could add a picture but don't know how or if you can.

So what you did was compromise the whole system doing it that way

This method reduces internal diameter, instead of putting small size pipe peace inside use bigger size pipe from outside to keep internal diameter same all the time, which is responsible for good water flow.

This may work if you don't need enough pressure. If this don't come off soon enough in boosted PSI from a water pump, the friction created will just reduce the desired PSI.
