Why is this anime no longer available in the US? I've seen Brotherhood, and it's one of my favorite anime. I really want to watch this series too. Even though I've heard it's quite different from Brotherhood, I still want to see what it's like.

I remember watching this in 2004/2005 when it first aired on french TV. My first anime ever, also the first manga I've read and followed till the end. Don't get me wrong FMAB is great cause it really sticks to the original plot, but except for Yui's one, the openings are nowhere near those from FMA 2003

Unpopular opinion: this FMA is the best version without question. I refuse to watch Brotherhood knowing it's basically a remake but follows the manga more closely which I didn't like the art style for so I didn't waste my time reading it.

This just sounds like 2003. First FMA was amazing.

I Just Got The Dvds Of The Classic Fullmetal Alchemist 4 years ago in my junior high school years.

I will say, one thing this show has on Brotherhood is just how dark it is. I've always really loved the creepiness, shadowy atmosphere of this show, even if I really dislike the ending in particular.
