i dont really agree with any of this to be honest. Mainly only agree withh you at ICC, warlocks are S tier almost all the way.

With blizzard nerfing the item levels of icc gear, would you change your tier list at all for characters that scale late game such as fire mage and warrior?

How is Ass so low on your tier list? We literally have logs showing it was significantly ahead of most specs.

Hey can you revisit this with data from the Wrath beta raids? maybe make a vid on phase 1 expectations/dps rankings?

A few thoughts based on what I saw on private servers (which might not be scripted so well) :
- Arms warrior is VERY underrated, mainly because it lives in the shadow of the fury spec. Most people never play the spec and just assume it is a way worse version of fury, but it is very close in terms of numbers, although quite a bit harder to play.
Don't forget that it has the same stats and gear : crit, armor pen and also gets a shadowmourne. It starts off better than fury, scales very well but even earlier because the armor cap is lower, and gets beaten at the end only because of the sheers stats than Titan's Grip gives to fury. It will be a bit behind fury for sure, but it is not very far and can definitely be considered A-tier troughout the whole expansion, even in endgame gear.
BTW it is a very fun spec, highly recommend it.

- Feral has some S tier potential in every raid tier. In fact I believe it has the biggest potential of any spec for single-target dps but only theoretically. Most players, even with some skill will only manage A-tier with it though.

- Same thing for affli lock (but not demo). It can definitely be higher up and its potential is similar to mages if played by someone who knows all the subtelty of the spec.

- Enhancement is a big question mark. If spellhance scales well with caster stats, it is potentially A to low S-tier, but again, the skill ceiling is very high so most people won't achieve it.

- I had a try at beast mastery hunter once and I would say that it is not as low as you would think, Wotlk is really the expansion where nearly every spec is viable. It gets beaten by the other 2 hunter specs mainly because of bad armor pen scaling, but if you spec/gear it accordingly (you have to figure it out yourself, all the guides I found were trash for this spec) it can definitely be in the the middle of the meter, not the bottom, and it has great mobility.

Guys the ONLY thing that will be like back in the day is maybe your questing \ leveling experience... The raids are going to feel a lot different and bosses are going to die a lot faster. Pick what you absolutely love to play and be the best you can be.. I actually believe with the skilled players we have in classic all classes with be very close together in a dps sense. Obviously, some specs will dominate others and some specs will be pretty much useless in PVE, but don't forget we will have dual specs so dont fret. At the end of the day I believe the meters will close and everyone will feel like they have a chance and the skilled will shine.

Arms warrior is not D tier in ICC. Arms warrior with bis gear can actually do some insane damage, same with enhancement (spellhance) shaman is really strong.

Ah, wrath, the last time Feral druids were relevant. I get tired of the new logic, "You can do every job, so you shouldn't be top tier at any of them!" But, Blizzard, I don't want to do every job. I want to be a kitty cat who eats faces and makes people bleed to death.

I kinda disagree with you with that naxx patch , in almost every raid its also affli lock/assa rogue / frost dk topping the chart, so why is not an affli an s tier?
And also on high end gear icc patch , mm hunter are definitely S tier among fire mage,fury war, combat rogue if they're focussing on damaging alone.

Note this is probably no longer valid for phase 1 as warlocks are likely back to S tier because blizzard announced naxx bosses will have increased health and damage.

So again, longer fights don’t equal longer execute phase proportionally. Sure you spend more time in execute phase, but you also spend more time in non-execute phase

Mut rogues are just S tier from prepatch my dude. They are only just a hair behind combat even in icc

I'm curious if you took into account spellhance over regular enhance. From what I understand, spellhance scales much better than normal enhance does.
