I did a big mistake by buying viltrox 13mm and not this lens which covers all apertures.
I didn't even know what the difference was back at the time i bought it.

If you need to update the firmware on this lens, note that it CANNOT be achieved if you have some of the more modern Sony cameras. Sony has not updated the software for quite some time, so for example FX3, FX6, FX9, FX30 etc will be stuck with whatever level of lens firmware they currently have.

It’s 2023. I ordered this lens today. It will go along with my FX30 and a 24mm f1.4 prime lens.

I already buy this after a long time using a kit lens and Zoom SEL 55-210. For me, that's a great investment right now

Sony 18-105 is not a good lens. focus issues and also not sharp lenses. instead, you can go for 17-28 and 24-70 3rd part lenses

Hey everyone I just bought the Sony fx30 I went to purchase the sigma 30mm that I have seen a lot of you also like but unfortunately the camera store didn’t have it for an e Mount. I was pinched for time so opted for the sigma 18-50mm lense. Unfortunately I didn’t realize it didn’t have its own image stabilization. The fx30 is supposed to have it internally but as soon as I started shooting video I noticed awful shake. I would rather not buy a gimble because that’s big and bulky. Would you recommend this Sony 18-105 lense for smooth videography without any sort of rig or gimmble? Or should I try a different lense or just buy a rig and suffer with the lense I bought? He showed a couple clips of hand held but I really can’t spend more money on a lense that isn’t right. Just wondering everyone’s suggestions

I have a unique lens : sony 18-105 f4 G lens 👍🏻which ND Filter is the best for videos with my camera a7s iii ?

This lens is great, I purchased a6400 body and 18-105 f4, just avoided the kit lenses. This one lens just suffice all my needs. I find myself shooting mostly daytime outdoors and f4 is more than enough. Earlier I was using nikon d3400 with kit 16-55 kit lens, 35mm f1.8, and 55-300mm Ed vr. Its pain to carry so many lenses and keep switching.

I just got my hands on this lens today and it’s a beast. You don’t hold onto the camera, you hold the lens 😂.

Hey. Im still thinking about this lens, since i have the kit 16-50mm and a 50mm f1.8 and im still trying to find a good enough use for the 50-105 range. Also ive heard the lens isnt that sharp and on 18mm its so much more zoomed than 16mm kit. Still thinking about it and also ive seen the 55-210mm. What do you think is better and for what? Hi Dunna, I tried shooting with this lens at night. Even if the image is exposed correctly, im seeing greys bars in the image. Like the one we see in a low light slomo. How do i rectify it?

Just got my first camera (a6400) and trying to find out what lens I should start with. Looking around and find this video, only to see my neighbourhood in the vid. Lol. Now I know it can shoot Edmonton.

So this lens on the A7iv with 1.5 crop in 4k 60 fps is a great option for video shooters compared to the 24-105 f4 FF version if you only need it for the 4k 60 uses?

Just got this after using takumars. Found I liked 105/135mm range lenses but often ended up needing a wide lens and vice versa.
It’s lighter than takumars, can sit on my a6000, has image stabilization and doesn’t breathe so it doesn’t collect dust inside as fast. So basically a buy once, use all the time for a very long time. Hopefully. Didn’t get the 18-200 because it has basically the same sharpness with an extending barrel that’s gonna wear and get dust and eventually mold inside.

Why in every sony review, do they never mention the A6400? I bought the 6400 as my first camera this past week and I've noticed that they are hardly mentioned in any sony review video. I'm genuinely asking because I am starting to believe I purchased an inferior camera 🤦‍♂️

Is this not a full frame lens? Looking to get something for my A7ii. Went full frame from my 6300 but will use that for video. Just want a solid great picture quality lens that opens up to 16 or so mm but can go to 70mm or so when needed. I can get a prime later and have access to use a 85mm Sony g 1.4 prime
