The gun shots were loud in the theater, actually felt like real weapons being fired for those that have heard it.

Why would a Tommy be stupid enough to run down the MIDDLE of the street while being shot at, then climb a gate directly ahead while in FULL VIEW of whoever is doing the shooting! It's as bad as the other movie where 2 Tommies are asked to carry orders across no-man's land, into German held territory, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY, when an AIRPLANE COULD HAVE DELIVERED THE ORDERS!

If you watched this on IMAX. You knew that gun sound is LOUD AF.

What a great opening. In the cinema it sounded like real gunshots. The only problem I have with this is that the town was actually pretty much a ruin and was bombed every day, but in the film it felt more like a ghost town.

It’s a great movie and great opening scene.
However…. Dunkirk at that time would look like a complete war zone. A lot of destroyed buildings and streets. Here it looks like a well preserved ghost town.
Secondly, those are trained soldiers. Why do they run across the open street instead of taking cover, when being shot at? Why climb up the gate where you are even more exposed ? And why does he drop his weapon?
And why the hack was his weapon not loaded?!? You walk through a war zone and don’t think about loading your weapon!!!
Thirdly, soldiers don’t drop dead immediately when getting hit by a bullet. It takes some time to bleed out.

I hate the way this film portrays the Army Rubbish that British Infantry men would be running away like that without laying down fire ect i am telling you now a soldier would not chuck his rifle away like that either , why do films about dunkirk always forget about the rear guard battalions fighting to keep the germans form advancing so quickly.

So few people on the beach... It looks like maybe 1000 people if that
