I watched this at TIFF; it is now one of my new favourite sports movies. The acting was excellent. Annette Bening pulled off being both slightly unlikeable and endearing all at the same time.

Looks good! I have followed Nyad's career forever.

I am a big fan of Jodie Foster's movies like silence of the lambs,accused and taxi driver (even contact has it's charms) and I respect Annette Bening and I wanted to like this but I have to admit,acting seems rather dry and forced, judging by this couple of scenes,were did Jodie Foster's incredible instincts for choosing role went,but I guess there are no many more good ideas and scripts, however it's nice to see older women without botox in the big screen,but it's just not enough to make a big splash,you also need charm and humor like older women in and 1950s 1960s 1970s and 1980s had.For example Thelma Ritter,Ruth Gordon,four women from golden girls,etc.I cannot see big feminist victory in the movie industry exept Woke-ism,which doesn't helps and serves anyone.Even here you need have mentiones like "oh you're a woman" "your an old woman" "life had been so difficult for you".We need better entertainment not constant moral messages,we are up to here with moral messages.

Even just watching this ad brings tears to my eyes. I LOVED Diana Nyad's story when she succeeded, and you could not have chosen a better pair of actresses doing this film than Annette Bening and Jodie Foster ... Can't wait to watch the makeover of the real deal, even though the real story and documentaries made of the feat were in themselves glorious and would not have needed a retell ...

We gotta support this like we supported Barbie so they keep making women-led films instead of films about toys

Several years ago, a teenage girl had her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing. Posters of her at bus stops read: "Me quit?" I thought to myself, Yeah! Quit! What does it take to prove to you what you are doing isn't worth the risk? Just EXACTLY how dumb are you? What kind of message does this give kids (or in this case, old people)? This movie is about dumb people doing dumb things, presented as though a great thing for dumb people who watch this and think it's "inspirational". It isn't. Labelling the film, "true events" only heightens the stupidity -- it's not even fiction. With all the things going on in the world, these two actresses don't have better things to do than make a brain-dead movie about swimming? Really? It's like a low-level Hallmark movie, except with lesbians. No reason to have been written, no reason to film it, no reason to watch. All the commentors who think this is fantastic are in for a giant let-down.

Can't wait for this. I saw her doc some years back and it is an amazing story. I swear just last week I was thinking, someone should make a movie about her amazing feat.
