Did you not find the PEPCON explosion (1988) in your research? It had a yield similar to a one-kiloton nuclear bomb and was the biggest non-military / non-nuclear explosion in the United States in all-time recorded history. It was in Henderson, Nevada and was an incredible sight to see as the rocket fuel factory completely exploded and shockwaves were visible for miles as they slammed into surrounding cities causing massive damage.

I live in Halifax, And the Halifax explosion is a common discussion here. I didn't know it would make top 10. One of the only things left of the HMCS Niobe (One of the boats in the explosion) is an anchor. It crashed about 4 km away from the explosion. They found the 900KG anchor covered in mud just recently. I haven't been to the marine museum in a long time but it's probably there.
