The CRISPR-Cas9 system has revolutionised gene-editing, but cutting DNA isn’t all it can do. From turning gene expression on and off to fluorescently tagging particular sequences, this animation explores some of the exciting possibilities of CRISPR.

I wonder if it's possible to genetically modify a most poisonous creature that isn't normally poisonous that can survive really cold places. Maybe any animal with an ultra strong venom and huge venom glands.

Or use flying insects or birds.

What if someone did this to a human. To their fingernails or something and then changed part of them to have an antidote always produced in the blood so the poison doesn't kill themselves but only others.

Or it's in your saliva and all you got to do is spit.

War in our future just may get sick. Not counting AI wars and something more advanced than neuralink coming along so we can think to control weapon systems and drones. How that will work is your near a dish you think. This sends a signal that then goes to space to control drones via satellite.

But we also make humans smarter in our future and feature may not be limited to current human features.

Imagine having to make the womb size larger for larger brained babies or go with a longer development of the brain.

Or they all have to be C section babies.

One we are smarter. Technology explosion insues. Original humand are primitive. Before all the genetically modified people.

Children in school will make fun of them. A lot of families still won't except their children being genetically modified.

However as more and more people do this. What was once considered unethical changes to normal. Before this people was made fun of for being designed instead of natural. Now the modified children are making fun of natural children.

Most humans lose original human identity.

Even before then. You no longer share 50 percent of each parents DNA so they are not quite rellated by blood anymore. Maybe at first more like a close relative.

Later in when we get better at genetic modifying or genetic engineering.

We can re-code just about anything from the ground up and change most everything about something and we have entirely new creatures. Some with features not found in genetics or any life on earth.

This will all be within a thousand years since knowledge is increasing so fast because of communication and and internet.

Future wars, About 100 to 200 will be worse.

In my 43 years of life knowledge has exploded faster and faster. Land lines to iphones and androids, before primitive computers. No flat screen. Then Lulu and Nana. Major advancements in DNA science. The internet and the knowledge explosion. This rate will keep encreasing.

When we figure out one thing. Look at all these new things we can do and all the other things we figure out right away based on that information.

In 200 years because of the internet and fast access to information anywhere in the world at your fingertips even when mobile and later a future nueralink will allow you to access just by thinking. But there is a problem.

Hackers will find a way to hack. They could do a devide by zero.

Think about an extremely advanced two way for of this before it starts being used for mind control.

At first staggard so people think the people the are being mond controlled went crazy. Later however more and more.

Especially after wide adoption. There will be people that do except these but they make everyone pay with one of these implants.

All purchases. Buying, selling and trading use this supposedly only secure way of transferring money.

Revolution far from over? It hasn't even began yet! CRISPR has not cured any of the major diseases yet. Even Sickle Cell Disease treatment is still being tested. We are probably at least a decade away from widespread use of this technology.

CRISPR-Cas9, bring me a gene!
By commandeering my repair routine!
A strand to match your severed location,
For some homologous recombination!

Cas9! Cheap and precise!
Rewriting genomes from microbes to mice. And soon the humble human being!

CRISPR-Cas9 bring me a gene! <3

frightening as hell. I used to worry about thermonuclear war but now I just know we will kill ourselves off with a mutant virus. seriously, these advances make you realize that humans were obviously created by an alien force. when Ancient Egyptian texts describe a half bull half man you now have to take the text as real. how many strange creations have already been made? humanized mice? seriously? you just have to know there are good intentions gone haywire.

my list of how the world dies. not in order.
1. Comet/asteroid strikes
2. AI
3. Crisper
4. Thermonuclear war

notice climate change is not on my list anywhere. climate will just be an inconvenience not a extinction causing concern. more people will die from intentional fossil fuell energy shortages trying to push "green" then by any change to the climate imho.
