Why did the stairs go away for skykiller gallery

I feel like I've been running around in endless circles for ages. Have now managed to find my way out again. Found 2 levels for one bridge but only one lever for half of the other bridge for the first part of this quest. Am going to bed now and re-attempting this in the morning and hopefully this will help me figure this maze out. The lack of markers and the fact I can not use clairvoyance is driving me batty.

For summer, you can use the spider control rod to tell the spider where to go then wait 1 hour in game and it will teleport to the spot. You can avoid fire damage this way

So glad I started getting the new Pets and summon spells for them before i did this quest if I run low on inventory space I can summon a few of them fill their inventory and send them home

So what happens with the two Elder Scroll spheres in the control room area? Do they just sit there looking pretty? They look pretty much like the first Elder Scroll sphere mechanism we found for the Dragon battle. Now I don't know if indeed these two are actually ES chambers like the first, I just assumed they were.

I didn't get very far into this. Got the mask then left. I've lost it today so now I hate myself.
