just discovered your channel and wondered if you made my favorite drink. Lo and behold it was your very first video. It has aged remarkably well. When I make them at home and don't wanna get all fancy with the sugared rim, I will just put a little sugar right in the shaker. I also prefer lime to lemon when I make em.
ОтветитьI learned the side car in ebs like a margarita so instead of tequila it's Cognac and instead of lime it's lemon but the same amounts. 4cl Cognac 2cl triple sec 3cl lemon and 1cl sugar sirup
ОтветитьOnce I found a bottle of german plum brandy sticking around and made this cocktail with it instead of cognac. The result was amazing!
ОтветитьHi Anders,
I Love your énergie!
I'am watching your videos from France.
Let me ask you a question, it happens that i've got no cognac lately, could i swap it with Armagnac ?
Thanks again for your videos!
Rémy
I am seventeen who was allowed to start learning how to be a bartender, your videos have helped a lot so thank you very much
ОтветитьI love the success you’ve had Anders, well deserved but the early cocktail videos are a vibe. Such a comfort through Covid. Thanks for upping my cocktail game ❤.
ОтветитьYou’re the Peter McKinnon of cocktails. You’re videos and transitions are freaking phenomenal.
ОтветитьI love side cars. One of my favorites
ОтветитьLOVE sidecars. It's almost impossible to make wrong. The only real issue would be nasty cheap cognac.
ОтветитьIt's not rocket science is it
ОтветитьBeen following you for about 2 years now and I just thought "Does Anders have a side car video?" Thank God for search! FYI - this is a Christmas Eve drink tradition that my Dad would make at my Grandmother's house for Christmas Eve Dinner. Best part was that he served it from a pig snouted pitcher! Top that! Cheers!
ОтветитьMan, you made quite huge progress during this years - more quality, less stupid jokes ;)
ОтветитьA sidecar with fig infused brandy is soooo tasty.
Ответитьniiiiiice
ОтветитьGrand Marnier substitute be OK?
Ответить"Can't make Cocktails at the bar cause of covid"

Love this! Like many others here, the Sidecar is a fave cocktail of mine. If I’m honest, my personal preference is to make it with Remy XO. I do know that this is expensive—and probably overkill—but XO is just so smooooooth! Finally, props to Anders for doing a sugared rim. It seems to have fallen out of fashion; however, I always insist on it. Thanx, Anders!
ОтветитьWhats a good sweet dusse or hennesy type for other coniacs thats similar but not that pricy. Also not too heavy on any black licorice flavors. Is there something thats like that even. Want cheap, but not gutrot by anymeans. Let me know??
ОтветитьThanks for the video! Unfortunately I can't find the dry curaçao where I live. So do you think it can be replaced by something else (grand marnier, maybe)?
ОтветитьI’m late to your channel, and from a recent video I learned this was your first. Loved it! Please keep making them…. Oh wait, you did! Don’t stop now. Also, I like the shake dance, I will start doing that at home. In front of only the dog. Because he knows how to keep a secret.
ОтветитьThe Brandy Crusta sent me here
ОтветитьI’m just seeing this years later….
ОтветитьSo a margarita is just a sidecar with the tequila replacing the brandy and lime replacing the lemon?
ОтветитьI'm making one now!
ОтветитьVery entertaining video!
ОтветитьI tried making this cocktail, yet ended up with more of an opaque color, rather than an orange-caramel color. I used 2oz D'usse vsop Cognac, 1oz contreau and 1/2oz fresh lemon juice. It tasted fine, but did I do something wrong when making it? I used the same recipe as found on the D'usse site, yet ended up with an opaque color rather than an oranges color.
ОтветитьLiterally my favorite drink of all time!! This drink also got me into classic cocktails! A bartender friend made it for me and I was instantly in love.
ОтветитьMan... The pandemic was weird.
ОтветитьI had a sidecar at "The American Sector" in New Orleans and they used an ounce of cognac and an ounce of B&B for a slightly spicier version.
ОтветитьWow. Same here. This is the drink that got me into classic cocktails. More than a decade ago, it was on the cocktail menu at The Majestic Grill in Memphis, I ordered one, and it set me down a path of ordering and eventually learning to make most of the old standards. Your channel is one of the best and most accessible on cocktail mixing and I really hope you keep it going. Thank you.
ОтветитьRecently found your channel as I've recently started making my own drinks, I really enjoy the inviting way you present cocktail making, it's been super helpful!
ОтветитьI've been watching these and making a bunch, now getting ready to include a sidecar for my friends' night this week. So ofc I came back to the channel and... Awwww... this is so sweet, it's the OG "To The Bar" video! Amazing to see the evolution of the past 2 years. So fun! Now, off to make some sidecars!
ОтветитьYour "initial shake" is really a show in itself. Thumbs up, man.
ОтветитьIs there a whiskey sidecar?
ОтветитьMy favourite part was 'don't forget your glass'...essential. Great video, I'll be working my way through these!
ОтветитьSwell video & cocktail !
ОтветитьI can't find that brand of cognac. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьPerfect make for sidecar!, a delicious classic. Nice job, Anders, Just curious . . . has anyone ever made the sidecar with the German brandy, Asbach Uralt ?
Would that be good?
Your oldest video on this channel is my favorite drink! I have been using Cointreau Noir. Skips the spirit mixture.
ОтветитьHey Anders! Just made my first sidecar and it was delicious! Thanks for the video and sharing with us, I truly appreciate it! Cheers🍸
ОтветитьI made my first sidecar in a very long time last night. I have a feeling I'll be making them a lot more!
ОтветитьNever had one... this like a wave with the fence post... thumbs up!
ОтветитьThis is wonderful and definitely gave me some good belly laughter. I hope you can find your way back to the humorous side of these videos? I’ve watched a fair bit of your content and only just came across this video which was really in a league of its own in terms of the humor. I hope you don’t end up becoming too serious about your cocktail educator role and underplay your obvious ease and talent with humor. Anyway – no judgment either way man I love your content and definitely learn so much so thank you!
ОтветитьJust watching you in action is worth the price of admission.
ОтветитьI'll get some bottles and practice until the floor gets in the way . You make the cocktail very appealing.
ОтветитьYou really do need to sugar the rim. I tried this with and without (second time I was feeling lazy). What's. Difference.
ОтветитьIt's 8:30 am, and I have the ingredients!
ОтветитьI’m excited to try! Thanks big bro this is my favourite channel
