My Makita is a beast, have owned it for 20 years, never has let me down, all with the original blade.
ОтветитьYou should look at parts availability when testing power tools, for example most Milwaukee m18/12 tools you can’t replace just the trigger or just the motor, they only sell motor controller and switch as one unit making a repair as expensive as buying a new too! They also use cheap Chinese bearings!
ОтветитьThanks for this informative video. It would be nice to see the same grinders evaluated for durability and life expectancy. I the real world you see tools dropped, used in inclement weather, various torge conditions, dirt, oils and dust slong with very abrasive and created during the operation of the tool.
Respectfully, RJL
I can’t believe you left out Metabo.
ОтветитьI hate using a Dewalt grinder. They a junk in my opinion. They vibrate way to much. They are loud and don't last that long. I love my Milwaukee grinder. I like the power switch and it's fairly smooth. I have used a Makita and they are great. I usually stick with makita for my power tools but the price and switch made me choose a Milwaukee.
ОтветитьSorry my friend but you didn't include in the comparison the king of angle grinders , which is none other than the bosch of course.
ОтветитьHow about a review of these sub-compact battery powered die grinders?
ОтветитьUsing the warrior with wire wheel to remove paint on my snowblower. It’s absolutely terrible. Went and bought a Milwaukee, and the difference is incredible
ОтветитьAny comments on the motor power? Those companies usually also have a heavy duty Option.
ОтветитьIm mad you didnt include the craftsman grinder😐
ОтветитьWe use metabo for our small flour grinders and I had no idea they made hand tools. They are very high quality tools tho we’ve done 5 years worth of floor grinding with it. I do have a question tho. Which grinder is best for wet tile cutting (running the grinder through a sponge to do cuts on ceramic or quarry tile). I’d love to know
ОтветитьWould you be able to do a 7” grinder version? Corded preferred.
ОтветитьDislike because the brand Bosch is missing.
ОтветитьYou need to try a Bosch grinder.
ОтветитьMan, I HATE the slide style switches. I have a DeWalt grinder similar to the one in the test but it has a paddle type switch. I would not buy one with the slide switch.
ОтветитьWhy use 1/4 inch grinding wheel for cutting metal?
ОтветитьI was on a time critical job in England (240volts) and I burned out my cheap grinder. I was getting some supplies from my Trade supplier; they had a Makita Grinder on sale for the equivalent about 170 USD. I thought it insane amount of money for a spinning motor that held abrasive wheels. I was in a hurry, so I bought it. BEST MONEY I ever spent! It was in a different league to all the other grinders I have used my entire life. Less Noise, less vibration, no Sparks flying out of the motor vents. I know 240v tools are not a direct comparison to their USA counterparts, but using a really nice tool all day compared to using a DIY version is similar to driving a crappy car vs a BMW 7 series on a long journey. I will never buy a BMW, but I will spend 10 times average price to get a high-quality tool.
ОтветитьReally great review, thank you! Im getting the rigid
ОтветитьI've been working with makita & metabo and dewalt for 7 years. After all these years I can say metabo is extremly expensive but it is best. we purchased AEG 13 sxe 2 mounths ago. İt is also cool
Ответитьever thought if making The Best Rotary tool Cutter video review from across board walmart harbor freight and so on. 😁would be awesome 😎
Ответитьa felx test whith out flex?
ОтветитьYou’re like having my father-in-law on speed dial for great advice!
ОтветитьExcellent review! You continue to provide very innovative and informative tool reviews with exceptional editing and efficient content. Would like to have seen a longevity test under load. Have experienced very short run time life spans with the Harbor Freight models, similar to what you experienced with the Ryobi. Thank you for all you do. Your efforts and videos are truly appreciated!
ОтветитьAre they all the best offered for each brand though
ОтветитьLate comment but I’m just getting to buying a new grinder. There are some tools I’m waiting for your tests before i purchase!! Great videos
ОтветитьI'd be really interested in the performance of Bosch angle grinders or other tools too
ОтветитьI prefer an angle grinder with a trigger switch, it's easier to hold and control, the porter cable one you tested was 6 amp, the porter cable trigger option I have PC750AG is 7 1/2 amps. It would be nice to see these types tested, I have a friend that likes a paddle switch grinder he does a lot of one handed grinding because he's always in a hurry.
Ответитьwhich grinder would you recommend, for sharping lawn mower blades, while using a All American sharping tool ?
ОтветитьWhen I got a 5" Makita Grinder it was truly a great day. It is sooo much nicer to use then these small ones.
ОтветитьI was hoping that I would find a grinder better than Makita. I have 3 dead ones on my shelf. Just have a farm shop and they don't get a whole lot of use. For those with a welding shop how many years are you getting out of yours?
ОтветитьBosch ?
ОтветитьI think Warrior deserves a higher position because you aren't considering important facts : it's the lightest, the least noisy, very good about vibrations, has a low reaction when it starts, and the cutting time isn't fair because Warrior is the lightest. And when you apply more weight it just stop, but doesn't burn ... the price it's really great and the fact that you cam't easily remove the shield is a good thing for me... I think i have some good points don't you think ?
Regards and Blessings from Venezuela.
I bought my 15$ 4.3 Amp Drill master with a coupon for 12$. It lasted 6 years before I felt unsafe using it. I bought a 6.5 Amp Makita for 40$ on eBay cause it could have the brushes replaced. Glad to see Black + decker here. Did pretty good! Wish it had replacable brushes. I'll grab one for the 3 position handle.
ОтветитьI always feel assaulted after going through your videos because of the rapid fire narration. A slower, more thoughtful approach would be easier to follow, even if it means skipping the per/item visuals
ОтветитьRigid consistently does well on these power tool tests, if I wasn’t already invested in dewalt batteries I would definitely consider Rigid, seems like a great value.
ОтветитьI spent 6 hours grinding out windows and doors in a metal container using a dewalt and regardless of high vibration reading in this test my hands are fine.
ОтветитьRidgid has proven to be a good brand over the tests of PF.
ОтветитьThe fact you didn't recommend the porter cable as the best budget option is crazy..
ОтветитьThank you for this…just bought the Ridgid from your link. I always check this channel before buying any tool
ОтветитьAs an Australian with 240V tools, I had no need to watch the whole video, but I did anyway.
I will say metabo comercial grinders are almost impossible to kill. To give you an idea: at my trade school the only grinders in the grinding room were Metabo and Makita and they were used and abused daily. They had 1.4KW versions which had a 2 handed switch otherwise they would probably be too dangerous for a 5 inch grinder. You absolutely could not bog them down. The Makitas are nicer to use but when you drop them off buildings and ladders onto hard concrete the gearbox casting does crack before the metabos did.
At my last job the Metabo grinders outlived all but the Makita grinders about 4 or 5 times over and about double the lifespan of the Makita. Most common failure was cracked castings due to idiots dropping them. This was true of evey brand except the Metabo. The Metabos would eventually become unusable because either the bearings would fail or the locking pin would shear off and they kinda just wore out rather than dying.
Another common death was burnt brushes and the greese melting out of the gearboxes of other brands. We absolutely abused all the grinders though, you'd get yelled at if you weren't torturing the grinders half the time lol.
Personally I like some of the bosch pro 5 inch grinders usually in the 700-800 watt range, they are strong enough to tollerate some abuse and survive plenty of bad drops compared to most other grinders excluding the Metabo. They are also not so strong as to try and kill you. The Metabos were unbreakable but after 8 hours of grinding with them you kinda wished that they would die lol.
I'd like to see a "best indestructible cutting wheel" test!
ОтветитьWhere is the Bosch blue?
ОтветитьJust picked up a Milwaukee 4.5” but a much smaller 7amp model for cutting steel. Was only $60 on sale. This has me second guessing I should have spent a bit more for a more powerful grinder.
ОтветитьIs it really fair to compare angle grinders with 11-13 Amp motors to angle grinders with 6-7 Am motors?
ОтветитьI would love to know how the grading criteria are chosen in your comparison videos? Start-up torque seems like a really unimportant factor in choosing an angle grinder. Is the start-up torque a major complaint among people who use angle grinders frequently?
ОтветитьDo all makes a big one and he's selling at Home Depot, they come with a nine amp battery, very powerful grinder, I think it'll go to 6 in
ОтветитьMetabo hands down
ОтветитьWe had some matabo industrial grinders with anti-vibration and self breaking. Everybody wanted those!
ОтветитьVideo idea, best wire wheel for grinder
ОтветитьKinda like furniture, buy good, buy once.
