Sargassum seaweed hinders fishing activities in the Western Region

Sargassum is a genus of brown macroalgae in the order Fucale of the Phaeophycean class. Numerous species are distributed throughout the temperate and tropical oceans of the world, where they generally inhabit shallow water and coral reefs, and the genus is widely known for its planktonic species.
Fishermen from Western Region who were recovering from the hardships they suffered during the ban on fishing say their joy of recovery is negatively being hampered by the invasion of Sargassum seaweeds.
